Texan
Shocking results that bring coalition politics back to the forefront. Can Modi manage coalition politics? He has never had to deal with not having a BJP majority in the past, whether as PM or as CM. Can Modi's decision-making process account for ally considerations? Can India actually develop at the pace at which there was hope when internal politics also need to be accounted? How much weightage will allies get? Can Nitish Kumar and Chandrababu Naidu claim a greater share of the union ministries? How will they influence government decision making? Will they switch sides? How long can the government last? Texan
Pretty sure President is going to invite Modi to form the government, but immediate question is whether Nitish, CBN will stay with NDA till vote of trust. Even if they stay till then, how long before they start making unreasonable demands. raki05

Nitish is not really corrupt for money, but can do anything for kursi. He always wanted to be PM despite only having some support in only one state. He is going to look at this as his golden chance. CBN is opportunist number one. raki05 and nevada
coffee_rules
Depends on what Nitish and CBN wants. BJP will give more than they can chew. Only Nitish wants a bigger pie. Have to manage the Palturam well. With PL forming a regional party in Bihar, he has no future in Bihar. RaJaDa and Chirag will take more space raki05

He will go to whoever is offering him that. I would not be one bit surprised if Congress offers him PM post if he can align with them. They can even offer some CBN relative some plum ministry like Defense to get CBN as well. For Congress, it would feel like a big win if they can just stop Modi from becoming PM again. They will be happy to give away all top ministries. nevada and raki05

ravishingravi
Will now not expect great reforms. Will expect stability. Will expect them to break INDI alliance. Will expect extreme populism. raki05
ravishingravi
To me if the govt doesn't last and there is re-election, then it's advantage BJP. So I wouldn't worry much about CBN and NK. For me CBN is more reliable of the two. CBN also has lots to prove in AP. raki05 and mishra 1

But CBN has brute majority in Andhra and doesn't need BJP, while BJP is heavily reliant on him. I think at minimum, he is going to get special status for AP. But at one level I agree. CBN might be comparatively more reasonable to work with than Nitish (fine margins here). Nitish can flip at the drop of a hat for a seemingly fickle reason. He left Congress in Feb because apparently nobody asked that he be given title of National Convenor for I.N.D.I.A. Congress can easily dangle PM post to him and he will jump in at the prospect despite knowing fully well that he will be completely controlled by the Gandhi remote control. Was just thinking out aloud. For the actual investments/plans will have to rely on others who are in the know. Had the chance to visit Laurus Labs a few years ago. In Vizag. They make APIs for vet products among other things. They've attracted a fair share of FII also. The state government make the state conducive to business. far better job than our Mahrashtra government. Couple that with special status and we are talking of accelerated development in the state. The prudent ones will cash in. ravishingravi

I think Amravati requires right amount local understanding, zoning in on key areas, bargaining hard, but also recognising downside. Last time around when there was mad rush during CBN time people invested like crazy. Value dried out immediately after Jagan came in. So have to evaluate project closely and 10 year horizon. My own sense is that Amravati and AP will transform in next 5 years. Edited June 5 by ravishingravi Mariyam
Singh bling
One of the biggest concern for BJP is going to be Modi's health. In these elections he had slip. Of tongue several times. Plus his voice face and body language was telling that 10 years of pmship has taken toll on his health. He is already close to 75 . Stress will too much at this age. LordPrabhzy
Nothing of note like UCC, NRC etc will happen now with Nitish and CBN holding the BJP balls... 5 years of going through the motions- development will have to continue but I hope BJP take the lesson that stop appeasing minorities and focus on your core voters and RSS backing. coffee_rules and mishra
