All florida matches likely to washout

Yes.  Ind vs Canada is a potential wash out.  Chokli fans will say he would hv smashed a record 20 ball Hundred against mighty Canada and boosted our team's morale.  Otherwise.

I absolutely agree with what you said but I don't think it's just inflexibility .it's also about backing an idea and giving it enough chance to see if it is a success or failure..continuity is good too inspit of constant chopping and changing..issue is why do this at world cup instead of earlier.

Now regarding Kohlis failures..it's not opening per se..it's forcing the issue from ball 1 is not his game...taking singles and allowing others to hit out is his game...it's more about the role than the position in my mind..but the pitches at my are awful ..so let's hold the jury out until  a good pitch..hopefully it doesn't bite us..the other thing is having kohli makes the team unbalanced if we have to play a high risk game...I would say drop dube and get jaiswal...and maybe get kuldeep in place of siraj  or jadeja...bringing kuldeep is sure as we don't have a long batting depth or lose a seamer

Forcing an issue , whatever u call - kohli sucks as opener . Jaiswal has been superb and imo , jaiswal is current number 1 t20 opener - hits sixes , high strike rate , left handed and plays spin , seam equally well .

Praying for kohli to hurt his knee like jadeja and not show up for rest of World Cup . This will bring rinku in and jaiswal as opener .

note - injury should be mild but string enuf to keep him out for a month .

Kohli shouldn't open.

But I'm loving Pant at 3.

Maybe Kohli should come at 4/5 depending on situation :dontknow:

Kohli can't bat at 5. Jaiswal to open with Kohli at 3, and Pant at 4 is our best bet with players in the squad. Jaiswal gives you a left-right combo and also someone who's a natural opener and an aggressive player. Kohli playing as an opener is impacting the team balance negatively. Either he bats at 3 or should make way for other players. Literally every team has either a left armer or a spinner who'll be licking their lips going after Kohli. Afg has Fazalhaq Farooqi, B'desh has Mustafizur and bunch of left arm spinners, Aus has starc and even Zampa could open. England has Topley, WI has Akeal Hosein, SA has Marco Jansen etc. I can't see Kohli doing much against these bowlers at the top of the order.

Best to let Jaiswal open and push Kohli to 3 so he can play his natural game. The good news is that we're unlikely to play on surfaces where par score's going to be 200. On the lower scoring pitches, Kohli can take his time and play within himself the way he used to. Giving opponents 2 free wkts in PP is gonna hurt us against better opponents than Pak and US.

Kohli has great record in IPL as opener. He scored 973 runs in that season as opener only and this season he was superb with bat as opener too. That's probably why India are persisting with Kohli as opener.

He is known to be more consistent than others and maintains pretty good S/R as opener. Other Indian players won't be as  consistent as him.

Not surprisingly, the results went opposite to the idea that he would be consistent and beast as opener because he failed in both games, as the conditions alongwith new bowl are troubling him.

Afghan left arm seamer Fazal Farooqi will get Chokhli in his 1st over.    Cricinfo on 20th June:   "Chokli dismissed while fishing the ball just outside the offstump, for a duck"

Why push Pant down when he did well on a difficult track? It should not revolve around Kohli. He should adjust not the team.

His best role is 4/5 to save in case of early wickets. Then he can do his tuk tuk too.

Coz our constraint is to fit in our seniors, and the only way you can do so with least harm is to play at 3. Opening with Rohit and Kohli is 2 early wkts in Power Play. The best option is to push down Kohli to 3 and that unfortunately pushes Pant to 3.

I am not totally against Rohit and Kohli playing this WC although I think it should be their last for sure, but which idiot had the bright idea to get them to open I don't know.

They absolutely must be split up and Rohit is better at using the powerplay than Kohli and Kohli is traditionally a number 3. Yashasvi could just take useless Dube's spot, open and kohli moves to 3 and pant to 4.

if they're playing, great. But at least play in your natural positions. How can Kohli suddenly become an opener when he has always played at no. 3 and his game is built to be a no. 3 bat? What's the point of keeping Jaiswal out? Open with Rohit & Jaiswal, which also gives us a left-right combo, let Kohli come in at 3, and then push everyone down the order by a spot. That's the best batting order we can go with given the squad we have.

And if you like Dube so much, then sit out Jadeja who's anyways useless. Plus play Kuldeep in place of Siraj as 3 seam options are enough for us in WI, and Kuldeep can take wkts in the middle overs.

This is an inherent problem in Indian Cricket because we somehow feel "in debt" to our senior cricketers who has served us for so long, that we are ready to make whatever compromise for them, even if it may not be the right decision.

Anyway, I hope both Rohit & Kohli retire from T20's (along with Jadeja), irrespective of what happens in this T20 WC.
