Dil Dil India Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 The timer has been going for 15 years since Pakistan's last WC win - will they ever win again? They will need to be in a group with minnows and then depend on quadrat ka nizam to take them through as always but when will it happen next? In 2026 it will have been 17 years since Pakistan's last WC win.
Nikhil_cric Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Tough. Even 2009 was thanks to a 45 degree chucker like Ajmal.
gattaca Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Do we have to even worry about them ? Even India and Pakistan matches are one sided. Chaos 1

Ultimate_Game Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 The only way they can win is if they host the WC at a venue like Dewbai where results are toss laden, and Pak can get lucky and pull off "Qudrat ka nizam". If they play where conditions remain the same and luck factor isn't that much, they're unlikely to win anything in the near future.
Gollum Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 50 overs WC, no chance. They have made one semifinal this millennium.1 out of 6. T20 or CT they may fluke once again. clownkiller 1
Gollum Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 Pak cricket will go the direction of their hockey. Truth is their cricket legacy is zero compared to their hockey legacy, so one can imagine where they will fall in cricket.

Their legacy ended with the advent of neutral umpires and clampdown on ball tampering. Check out Pak's home test records after neutral umpires were introduced. India's hardly changed whereas Pak's record nose-dived almost immediately and they started losing at home to likes of Zim and SL in 90s! AuxiliA and Kron 2
deathmonger Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 t20 maybe odi no chance. cricket has become more professional. round robin style they'll lose to big 3 and some other team and that's it. clownkiller 1

NameGoesHere Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 (edited) Forget hockey. People tend to forget Pakistan’s incredible global domination in squash, and their stark decline. In the World Championships, for 20 straight years from 1976 to 1996 a Pakistani was either winner or runner up. They were a literal global superpower of the game. Jahangir and Jansher Khan were Gods of the game, so far ahead of the competition as to make it ridiculous. Pakistan’s prowess in Cricket - such as it was - was nothing compared to their domination in Squash. Today their Squash players are reduced to competing at the Asian Games level, and often get beaten by India. Interestingly their long decline also started around the mid 90s. You could probably write a book on their shocking fall in Squash. I suspect the reasons are not dissimilar to the decline in cricket. Edited July 5, 2024 by NameGoesHere zen 1

IndianRenegade Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 They are busy representing their religion. like pointed out by pak youtuber you would be hard pressed to find their players explaining their thought process in cricketing terms even in urdu. All you will hear is sermons on religion, good luck winning anything with no clarity.
vvvslaxman Posted July 5, 2024 Posted July 5, 2024 India not winning a cup for so long was fate Pakista not winning a cup for 15 years is destiny. Ultimate_Game 1
