There was a BJP minister who said Kerala landslides occured because cow slaughter happens there. 

 

With this kind of mentality from politicians, we can't expect development in the next few decades.

Wonder why. Looks like world cup is not taken as seriously in hockey. It's Olympics that matters more. 

 

That's not the reason. 

 

We dominated Netherlands a lot during our Golden era (pre1980s). In fact won our first Gold defeating them in 1928 finals. Beat them in the 1952 finals too. Beat them several times in knockouts. 

 

The hockey WC was started only in the 70's, by that time out hockey was in decline. Netherlands dominated us after the 80's both at Olympics and WC.

Tokyo gold and silver medalists knocked out today. 

 

Belgium's was a shock. But Aussies never looked like contenders, we would have beaten them 4-1, the scoreline flattered them. Today Dutch should have won 5-0 at least.

Well atleast in Hockey they don't have judges deciding goals at the end of the match, otherwise forget 10 men even 12 wouldn't have been enough to beat GBR.

1.Inconsistent video umpire reviews, particularly regarding the red card decision for an Indian player, which has eroded trust in the video review system.

2.Coaching of a goalkeeper from behind the goalpost during the shoot-out.
