So which team winning this series helps India in WTC or split works better.

NZ, Lanka both won't qualify, 99% it will be Ind vs Aus final. RSA has an outside chance to displace Aus, we are clear.

We chickened out and prepared a flat bed in Amdabad.

If we really were scared, we'd have prepared a flat deck at Indore. The only reason Oz has won 2 tests in India in the last 20+ years is on the back of raging turners! On flat or balanced tracks, we've not lost a test since Nagpur 2004—that's how bad they've been! In that time they've won the toss what 14-16 times? And batted first in all of them. Cummins also didn't play in Indore, so our chances only got better. I have no idea why we persisted with so many iffy tracks vs. them, but on flat/fair tracks, Oz isn't even in the same PIN code as us. Even Pak/Eng have beaten us on flat decks; the same goes for SA.

We aren't clear.

There are multiple probable scenarios where India won't reach the final with Aus and SA making it..

South Africa has easy schedule and can easily pip us if we get embarassed 4-0 or even 4-1 in Australia. Still the table is wide open with all the top 5 (SENAI) having a decent chance.

Bhai, RSA is set to tour BD for 2 tests. We know their glorious record in SC since 2015, don't we? Got whitewashed by poyzzz couple of years back.

Yes but it's still not unrealistic that South Africa won't win 2-0 there. Bangla boys are a weird team who have even lost to west indies C at home in recent times..

Again, it all comes down to the BGT at the end of the day. 5 Tests can create just way too much swing in the points table one way or the other..

If we win the series no matter what the margin is , we would have taken away enough points away from Australia to make them drop from the top2. Even if they sweep sri lanka 2-0 later, it'd be useless. Extra motivation for our guys to give their best at the BGT. As proven in the WT20 2007, 2011 WC, 2024 WT20.. our best bet of winning an ICC title is always by us knocking the Aussies out earlier in the tournament. We cannot win against them in a final.

I think it's very likely they will get flattened in BD. Even NZ only scraped to a draw in BD.

South Africa batsmen have struggled in Asia since 2015.

Even Bavuma and Elgar have averaged only 29 odd in this period , Faf around 18 and Markram around 26.

The rest are potentially even worse.

Bowling wise : Maharaj - 38, Rabada -36, Nortje - 42.

They are probably the worst team in Asian conditions by some distance.

How come these Asian minnows win so many tosses against S.E.N.A. nations? They in turn win way too many in India, especially Oz/Eng, who have an 80-90% win record post-2012.

And we win those usless bilateral ODI or dead rubber WC games' toss.   :whack2:

Do sl not have any other test venue nowadays? Why do they host teams only at Galle for tests? Pandemic is over.

Tourism factor probably also Galle is somewhat difficult for SENA sides.

They hosted One Pak test in Colombo and BD in Pallekele
