Kuldeep...man he is just frustrating everyone.

Few years ago he had backing of almost every cricket fan for the injustice. Seems to have lost everything.

He made debut 9 years ago. Played only 19 tests. I don't think it is called backing. In 19 tests 3 man of the match awards.

Saransh could replace Kuldeep in the 2nd test

Won't be the worst thing. Given that Suthar has sealed his position, it would be good to test out the second spinner options.

Washington might eventually come back and take that spot though

Saransh Jain is likely to make his India debut during the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo

SSC helps seamers too. I would go with Brar as third seamer. If they want to test a fast bowling combo this is the right match and see how they complement each other.

If SSC is more of a batting wicket with slightly more assistance to seamers than spinners , I think we need to go in with 3 seamers and 3 spinners. Keeping in mind that jadeja / saransh are capable bats and suthar isn't a mug with the bat either.

Drop Jurel for Gurnoor and get in Saransh in place of Kuldeep.

The usual 4 batsman and Pant followed by Jadeja , Saransh and Suthar. And then the three pacers.

Will still have batting till 7.

He is a stop gap solution until Sundar returns. So i wouldn't worry too much about his selection. There are only a few offies in domestic. Jain and Kotian. They went with Jain as Jain is supposedly closer to a specialist batsman than Kotian.

If your offspinner is mediocre better to go with sla allrounders like Shami Mulani instead of taking someone for the sake of it

Doesn't get anything from his pivot and leading arm.   First time I've observed his action closely.

Is this really the best offie in domestic?

Kotian is the beat offie in domestic but selectors not even pick him for India a series

Jain looks like one of those influential selections

Even Shane Warne had a bad debut?

#justsaying :dontknow:

If Saransh ends up having even 10% ability of Warne, I will quit watching cricket.
