He was their friend at one point of time but later went agaibst interest of US as he took control of oil fields from proper oil extraction companies.

I think that’s the major factor why this the trade tensions have mellowed down now. And with the latest sanctions of the 2 refineries - Rosneft and Lukoil, things are gonna divert even faster now. These 2 were comprising 36% of India’s purchases. This Putin - another clown is gonna run out of options. If this guy thinks that the world is gonna stop funding his opposition eventually, he’s just an idiot. Rosneft and Lukoil can do the intra company transfers within Russia and that oil can be exported. Key thing is Europe is asking the timelines of 2028 for the Natural Gas, hypocrisy of the highest order. I'm expecting Russia-China-Iran to probably target some refineries in Saudi with the help of Houthis. China is already blocking the rare-earth to US, target on refineries is going to send shockwaves in ME. Its a catch 22 for trump n usa. Peace declared in ukraine and oversupply of brent crude means prices at sub $40. This means usa shale industry is making losses with exports n jobs lost. Usa reliant on oil n gas exports to balance trade books. Trump needs oil at 60 to 70. Its the price us consumers are happy to pay and shale is profitable. He will need to ask opec to make cuts to prodiction but likes of iraq etc will be *ed if they do. Russia n usa both now reliant on bremt crude being 60 to 70.
