Popular Post Ultimate_Game
After beating Aussies at their fortress at Gabba last time round becoming the first team to beat Aussies there in more than 3 decades, India went one better and have become the first team to beat Aus at their new so called fortress at Optus stadium in Perth! Congrats Team India and ICT fans! What made the win even sweeter is that Australia scheduled the first Test of the series in Perth to make sure India played their first Test at the fastest pitch in Aus assuming India won't be able to handle pace and bounce in their first Test. But it was Aussies who imploded and crumbled and it almost looked like it was India who was the home team and Aus were playing on a bouncy pitch for the first time! Hoping we pull a hattrick of away series wins in Aus! Sgattick10, ravishingravi, Lone Wolf and 8 others 2 2 7 Link to comment

Tillu
We should also become the 1st team to defeat Australia in a Day - Night match next up in Adelaide. Norman, diga, Ultimate_Game and 2 others 1 1 3 Link to comment

Don't think any of SCG, Adelaide, MCG or Gabba is pacier or bouncier than what we saw Day 1. That's the reason Aussies scheduled the first Test at Optus hoping to catch India before they could get used to pace & bounce. But unfortunately Aussies were the ones caught with their pants down Vicks57 and diga 2 Link to comment

Even WI managed 333 when they toured in 2022. it just gets the reputation due to being in same city as WACA Link to comment

It was plenty fast - If you're talking about peak WACA then probably the last time we saw that, not live of course, was 1992 SRT's debut series! Ultimate_Game, AuxiliA and Stan AF 1 2 Link to comment

It has more seam movement but isn't as fast or bouncy as what we saw here. The ball was zipping around. You won't see the same pace and bounce at MCG. That's why WACA/Perth has been the graveyard of visiting teams, especially subcontinental ones. You don't see that kind of bounce anywhere (maybe SA) and mostly it's a venue where you don't expect Asian teams to do well. Link to comment

But it does not skid through. Have to say, Centurion and Wanderers are quicker than any OZ pitch nowadays. Edited November 26 by Nikhil_cric Link to comment

R!TTER
I watched that match live as well; the only time I saw Perth quicker was the 2004 ODI vs. Oz in the tri series, where Gilly's (Symonds?) catch was dropped and we lost that game! I can't say if other teams faced worse Perth wickets, but for an intl game that (2004) was the fastest I've ever seen. Objectively speaking, unless we have a scientific way to measure the loss in speed, they used to show something like how much ball slowed after pitching on different wickets; this back and forth is pointless because our eyes cannot possibly gauge that accurately!
