1. "King" Kohli

2. "Captain" Rohit

 

It's difficult to win with 2 walking wkts in the top 4, and a useless uninspiring captain. Replace these two and we easily hammer Kiwis the same way we beat England.

There are three Sri Lankan batters on 16 career tons who are still playing test cricket and then there is no current player between them and Kohli who is on 30 tons.. Root is making centuries for fun and Kohli is running after the Fab 3 ( well 2 as Smith's is going through a lean patch) like a clueless puppy.

 

IMHO there isnt a Fab 3 or 4 anymore. Root is the best test batsman in the world and Kane, Smith are slightly better than average and Kohli is mediocre now. Root really has no competition. He needs 3/4 years more of only playing Test cricket and Sachins record is very likely to get broken

Smith is on a decline but he was easily better than Root. Even Root will decline.

I'm sorry but Kohli is not just mediocre, he's a tailender at the moment. Mediocre batsmen at least manage to score some runs when it matters. Kohli never does. He's only there for 300/2 like situations when you don't really need a batsman in the first place.

This match shows how much fitness is important. THey didn't get whole lot of success. THey kept plugging with 4 bowlers without dropping intensity. NZ has moved from commanding positionto precarious position. Harshit Rana is just 22 years old. He already has a mini belly. Siraj looks like a match stick.Prasidh looks spent after 3 overs. There is no athletic quality in any of our bowlers.

England have developed a good all conditions attack. Not just nibblers wo depend on swing at gentle pace. Carse, atkinson etc hit the pitch hard at good speeds and get just enough movement.
