Infact he has taken 24 wkts in 7 games..out of which 19 has come in last 3 Tests only. Yeah, one good series. He might do well in India but will never be Ashwin level, he is a batting Allrounder.

Off spin cupboard is bare...there is one 19 year old punjab spinner apart from Pulkit Narang & Saransh..both are avg at best. Left arm spin bowlers are in abundance, leg spin also we have options. raki05 1

Vilander Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 He might have known that he is surely not playing and did not want to linger on for a month and thought it was better spent with his family back home. It makes sense, not feeding the media that much more of Ashwin has declined and still Holding on nonsense. Mumbaikars like Gavaskar don’t know the thing of leaving on high.
putrevus Posted December 21, 2024 Posted December 21, 2024 Gavaskar is one of those rare Indian players who left on high. You can say lot of things about Gavaskar but hanging on for too long cannot be one of them.

Absolutely Gavaskar left on a high as a player when he was "the" batsman in 1987. Gavaskar as a commentator..... now that is a different story. GoldenSun 1

My own father was not the same man after age 65 that he was at 45. Nor my uncles. You can see the decline, change, whatever in people's behavior as they age. I actually think that the retirement age for jobs of 58-59-60 in India is quite apt. After that age major changes happen in humans. Is it possible to forcibly retire Harsha Bhogle? express bowling 1

First class Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 His criticism of Pant is justified , Pant should bat at #7 and ready should come ahead of him at #6
