MK55 Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Pants criticism was valid. But could take it easy a bit. So much impulsive rage is not good lol. But this Gawaskar needs to say something about the absolute failures Rohit n Kohli have been too. I can’t take him seriously otherwise. Pant is batting like a tail ender. He should play attacking cricket but not be so f limited in his batting range. Boland was actually making fun of him as to how this clown walked into their trap. singhvivek141, Vijy and Laaloo 3

Sunny once in jest mentioned something about virat facing bowling of Anushka. She naturally like an uneducated type when sobbing in public anti sunny. Why would Sunny attach virat when he know his wife will come defending him ?
express bowling Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 Gavaskar is not senile. He says things which will please the BCCI, the sponsors that are important to the BCCI and his employers. His true emotions / opinions come out only when he is talking about players that are not that important to the above group. Lord, AKane, Vijy and 2 others 5

Ssssshhh, don't let uncomfortable truths come out in the open, many Indian fans won't like this to be exposed . His batting legacy is a myth, great player but talk about overhype. Feasting on 1971 WI, Packer rejects whilst going MIA against first choice bowling attacks. Vijy 1

For me, Vijay Merchant has a real claim for being the greatest opener in "tough conditions" from India - due to politics and WW2 and other factors, he didn't get many matches. My father saw both and continued to rate Merchant higher, but my father was not some hidebound traditionalist - appreciated Sehwag too. He had a long life, so he got to see players from 1940s until 2000s. Edited December 28, 2024 by Vijy adi B, Gollum and Vk1 2 1
goose Posted December 28, 2024 Posted December 28, 2024 the cynic in me says attacking pant gives him a way to promote reddy up the order without disturbing things higher up!

I found Rohit's brain fart and Kohli getting Jaiswal run out and promptly getting out immediately after much more infuriating. Surely Gavaskar could've commented on it but not a peep! We've Rohit destroy the team by coming in after Perth and Kohli has been sucking balls for more than 5 years and Gavaskar hasn't said anything about it at all. If he expects him to be taken seriously he needs to be neutral and call out everyone.

Number 7 is probably the right number for him if he has to keep wickets and number 5 is too high. It's a shame because he is actually quite a technically well equipped batsman when he bats normally. Yeah I am sure your heroes whoever they are would have batted better against Imran and Sarfraz "and" Pak umpires in Pakistan. Or the 221 against prime Botham and Willis at the Oval in England.... And this game can be played not just with Gavaskar..... I am sure the first choice bowling attacks like Lillee and company toured India with success.... what now they never even played? Strange! (BTW neither did big bad boy John Snow ever play in India) Go look at Lillee's average outside Aus/Eng/NZ - it is worse than Agarkar's. Plus never played in India. I am sure the likes of Gary Sobers averaging 83 against worthless Indian attacks while averaging 43 vs Australia is likewise considered too. Was he so great? Maybe not huh? That shot would have worked if there was no fielder there. They had a fielder specifically for this shot. So he could have avoided. Hope he takes his chances after looking at the field
