Domestic Players with 50+ batting average who never got a chance to play Tests

Guys like Indrajith, Badoni, Easwaran, Rinku have been piling on runs for so many seasons now. But nowhere close to getting a cap. Some of those guys don't even play IPL. Injustice that Rohit, Kohli have jobs for life despite zero returns.

Even Dravid handed out test debuts to SKY, Patidar based on their IPL numbers.....both mediocre in FC.

SKY getting a Test debut was travesty. Scored a grand total of 8 runs

I look for both averages and SR. Yes, SR is not necessarily important in red-ball cricket, but it serves as a measure of dominance in domestics. If someone in tuk-tuking their way to a 50 avg against mostly sub-par attacks on easy pitches, it says nothing. But if someone is thoroughly dominating - scoring a lot of runs at a high SR - then they are likely to be successful against international attacks. This is where I would rate the likes of Rinku, Jaiswal, Jurel and Sarfaraz above guys like Bawne.

Not a perfect rule, of course.

Seem coaches are being replaced by PRs.

Advice to parents don't get a good coach for your child, invest in PR :hysterical:

This has been a fact for at least 10 years. It was a phenomena successfully used by Dhoni first. Kohli took it to new heights.

Before, top players had management agencies to handle advertisements and sponsors. Players still had to work hard and execute.

Both got in due to being close to the superstars in :rcb: and :mi:

Even Paddikal magically got picked once he was part of :rcb:

Very nice thread OP:congrats:

The loses to NZ and australia and snub from Test Championship has opened a can of worms. I am glad that so many loop holes in the system have been exposed and talked about by our fellow ICFers. Keep it going guys!

Yup, you gotta play for the right IPL franchise to get in. MI, RCB and CSK players are the ones who get fast tracked. Or you need to have enough political support from your region such as Sanju Samson.
