vvvslaxman Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I know not a pleasant subject to talk about. Just for fun. I'll start with one Tendulkar playing a rash shot when India needed 16 to win with 4 wickets in hand in Chennai Test. I know he was in pain. He had just hit saqlain for 4 consecutive fours. Match was all but over. Then that happened. Rest is history.
singhvivek141 Posted March 11 Posted March 11 (edited) Sachin stumpout in 1996 ODI WC. We collapsed from 98-1 to 120-8 Edited March 11 by singhvivek141 raki05 1
vvvslaxman Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Kapil Dev's wild hoick when India just needed 5 an over in the last 10 overs. Back in those days that was easily gettable. This was world cup semi final , 1987 against England.
neel roy Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Pant and Pandyas mindless hack in 2019 SF. They could have easily played sensibly in singles till 40th over. Both caught in deep. Pitch flattened out. Rohits unnecessary shot against Maxwell when 9 runs were already scored in that over Pant hitting head after tea in Melbourne. We would have surely drawn the test. Ashwin reverse sweeping i think aijaz patel in 3rd test with 30 odd runs to get and getting caught behind. With Sundar playing well we couod have chased that. If we had won that test we would have been in WTC final probably as we only then would have needed 1 win and 2 draws in Australia. vvvslaxman 1
goose Posted March 11 Posted March 11 WC 2003 final in South Africa, chasing that mammoth total, SRT skying pull shot off McGrath, think he was out on 4. horrible, horrible moment, exacerbated by being there live! nevada, Lord and Mariyam 1 2

Nowadays there are so many set templates to chase down big totals. Not like it is easy. Back then they just got panicked. He should have let Sehwag take charge. Actually Sehwag did thrash Mcgrath for two sixes in one over.
vvvslaxman Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 Bumrah Noball moment is up there even though it happened so early in the match. It could have been different.

If you see the run rate india was in a good position even mid way. putrevus and Lord 2

Once the ball get softer it becomes harder. So attacking new ball was imperative.
BacktoCricaddict Posted March 11 Posted March 11 I don't remember India losing even a single time. Either they haven't lost, or my memory is terrible. Not contributing to this thread. vvvslaxman, Mariyam and nevada 3

vvvslaxman Posted March 11 Author Posted March 11 This one is not important. But most recent. Arshdeep went for a wild hoick when we needed 1 to win.
Bigg Brother Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Rohit Sharma in Final WC 23. Tops the list and will remain on top forever. Brainless stuff, did same in Final few days back as well but there target was already achievable. Fatso had always horrible match awareness and that day he proved it again. putrevus, Lord and Frustrated 3
AuxiliA Posted March 11 Posted March 11 Pant recently in the Melbourne test 2nd innings. Completely needless shot given the situation. Had he batted 30 mins more Aus would have given up and we would have gone 1-1 into the Sydney test. Bigg Brother 1
goose Posted March 11 Posted March 11 another one was a yuvraj clean bowled. i forget the game, think he was on 99 - massive shock! not really in the same league as some of the above mentioned but sticks in my head for some reason!

For some reason he was never able to read slower balls. As good as a hitter he was, he had some stupid looking dismissals because of not reading from hands. Frustrated 1
