Yashasvi Jaiswal quits Mumbai to join Goa’s team

Is he trying to position himself as a future test captain by leading Goa ?

 

I think someone influential advised him to do this — I don’t believe it was a strategic move he came up with on his own.

i bet this is connected to  some behind the scenes stuff happened before the Ranji SFs.lot of politics in mumbai cricket but i cant believe the would jeopardize their team like this

As tou mentioned, it is probably to gain captaincy experience as Mumbai already has Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer and SKY who have lead Mumbai team in various formats.

 

But then he will miss the MCA headquarters in BKC. It is just amazing and I am sure nothing remotely like its class exists in Goa.

It is very unfortunate. Goa doesn't have a top level team and usually only those who can't find a place in the Mumbai team switch to Goa. If he wants better opportunities to play, he should have stuck to Mumbai. But then again, how many domestic games do international players play anyway. So, it might not be that big of a deal.

It's clear that Jaiswal is not in the good books of powers to be. Look at the treatment meted out to him. Despite being the best Indian batter in Tests and one of the best records in T20Is, he still hasn't made into the ODI team. Someone like Gill has been preferred over him and even made into VC despite Gill's performances nowhere near Jaiswal. He warmed the bench in WT20 and not even selected for CT.

 

Jaiswal wasn't even given captaincy of RR and a nobody like Parag was made the captain. It shows Jaiswal has no backing or support coz if he had support at any level, he would've captained once Sanju Samson was sidelined due to injury.

 

It's unfortunate that our generational batter is being treated this way. And I've seen a similar parallel with Rinku. These two have always been undermined and received barely any backing. Both were sat out of WT20 despite being the two best batters in the format. It's like higher ups are simply waiting for them to fail so they can be sidelined.

It's not about being valued. It's just the way Indian system works. Players who matter are given the captaincy or identified as potential captains. Look at Gill or Pant. They've both held VC roles despite not being the best captains. It's the way for higher ups to determine the pecking order. If Jaiswal is not even being considered and is being kept out of LOI teams, it's a clear signal that the management or higher ups don't consider him valuable.

Mbai team is stacked with multiple ind player who are either captaining IPLteams or are eying Ind captaincy spot.

 

Think the move is to gain some captaincy exp. ans specially when bcci is mandating to ply domestic cricket when player are not playing for Ind.

 

Some posters have suggested some foul-play but have not read/heard anything regarding Jaiswal being in some kind of issue. And it does not happen to ind cap players unless they are repeated offenders like Shaw. PPl were not that happy with kolhi in his initial days but they never tried to sabotage his career. Sehwag and gg had issues with ddca.

 

Goa is kind of second team for mbai players most move to goa team once they cannot find a place in mbai or some spot is not available.

He is not  RR's vc as parag has been there with them for a long time and their 2nd home is ghati and rr being small market team they want to attract more fans and sponsors.

As Jaiswal will be mostly playing all the international matches ,he will not play many matches for Goa.

It looks like he is upset with Mumbai '!management and wanted to leave Mumbai at any cost

Jaiswal has max 2 years left in international cricket. If he doesn't score 500 runs in the Eng series, his test career is also likely over, Ruturaj will replace him. 

 

Hope he shifts to Eng/Aus/NZ. Clearly bigger powers in Indian cricket who want to sabotage his career.

Captaincy is money. Jaiswal might be become a captain in IPL in future. If he can captain one of the ranji teams

The worst case is Dhoni,who cant play 5 overs is selected in the team ahead of young player. 

 

Inspite of bad performance, bad captaincy ,Rohit is goung to play English tour.

 

Inspite of average performance, Virat is going to tour England. 

 

Jaiswal,Jurel,Sarfaraj are always playing for their places and if they don't perform in a match ,they are dropped.

Rohit (along with Kohli) was the one who was the main reason behind India losing at home to kiwis, losing BGT and then  Rohit was involved in Mumbai losing to J&K. And who was targeted and paid the price? Jaiswal! Our best batter in Tests against Eng home series and also in BGT!

 

Our seniors are cancers to the team. Instead of protecting and guiding our upcoming youngsters, they throw them under the bus. And our selectors, management, BCCI and state cricketing boards & officials are no better. They don't have the balls to hold senior players like Kohli and Rohit accountable, and make examples of youngsters and fringe players like Jaiswal, Iyer, Ishan Kishan etc.

 

On what basis are Kohli and Rohit continually selected in Tests? In fact they even sucked in Ranji and still got back into the team. Players like Iyer, Ishan Kishan, Karun Nair are ten times better than these so called seniors with Jaiswal a generational talent. But nothing matters and these blood-sucking seniors will walk into the team with no performances and other players will be blamed for seniors' non-performances.

Looks there is more to it. He was pulled in for disciplinary issue by Rahane for sledging opposition player. Sandeep patil scolded Indian cricketers saying they are more interested in signing autographs than playing cricket.
