Jains and Buddhists.

Absolutely incorrect

The core tenets of Ahimsa came from said two sects...  They never existed in our Psyche nor our ancestors talked about that stuff.

They practically ended the practice of "Bali" in our temples..  altering the DNA of subsequent generation.  Only Pahadis managed to hold on to those sacred Hindu traditions.

There are many such examples I can give but it would be Off topic...

The damage they inflicted on Indian Psyche is unmatched till this day.

Do you have any sense of history ?  Jains are less than 0.5 % of India's population even after the rapid growth over last 50 years. They were a fraction of 0.5 % several 100 years back. Buddhists have been less than 1 % always.   Could a 0.5 % minority cause Shatru Bodh in a 95 % +  Hindu population before Islamic invasions ?

Buddhists were converted en masse by Arabs in Sindh and Southern Punjab literally.  We all know the fate of Buddhists in Afghanistan.  Similar stuff happened in Kashmir later on.

Their population was definitely substantial and probably in huge chunks during Mauryan era.  many accounts point this that it was highly popular in major power centres (not so much in hinterlands)... I can draw its parallels with wokeism  in Metros and tier 1 towns.

Of course there was Hindu resurgence in Gupta era.. and Huns were anti Buddhists/Jains so there's that.  Mihirkula used to hunt them down..

Jains got wiped out from Tamil lands so there's that.. rise of Chola empire happened soon after that.

Regardless their impact on Hindu civilization lead to many of our Vedic practices going extinct.  Casteism gained prominence again..

I believe by the end of war the precedent has been set that any act of terror would be act of war!!!

We are just not learning.  Even in 2019, when we did Balakot, they tried to retaliate the next day and dropped some ammunition near our brigade HQ. And then we deescalated.

Everytime Indian army attacks terrorist camps and centers - Pak retaliates by attacking our military.

As the much bigger power why don't our forces smash Pak army first  and not the mullah pigs ???

I am fed up of this stupid effing PR game. Even after all this, has anyone from the govt categorically said Pak army is the fountainhead ?? We should call them out loud and clear and obliterate half a dozen of their top brass without warning.

Nobody denies that Jainism and Buddhism are pacifist religions. But you are totally overestimating their impact. They were extremely tiny and continue to remain so.

You are also entirely dismissing the fact that India has NEVER EVER been internally united.

Constant bickering and infighting and greed - so much so that they are happy to partner with foreigners to kill their own kin for greed and power.

This DNA flaw is seen today today with internal traitors ( 0.5 front ).

This is the only reason why we were colonized for almost a millenia and even a relatively tiny backward and poor people like Afghans could not be occupied - because they were always united against external actors.

I know it is true as well.  But remember Afghans also got colonized by Alexander & before that Persians and as tiny as Punjab was it managed to resist mighty alexander.

That was Vedic India when Buddhism/Jainism were not mainstream.

How do you think successful foreign invasions became so frequent post all this?  And Btw Afganistan once again fell.. and its neighbouring Hindu Kashmir resisted for 3 more  centuries.

Swami Vivekananda in brief once talked about how Jains effected  our eating habits and stuff like that. Even  Our staple diet changed through the course of time.

Shatrubodh has so many layers & it starts right from the day you are born and the environment you get growing up.

A M kid upbringing is totally different from a H kid.   Their festivals, ramzan and all that are geared towards a fixed mentality.  It's all psychological.

In Satna district of MP, there was a Punjabi police officer posted (something something Jaggi) in a high crime rate area (Nazirabad) where chain snatching, robbery in homes were pretty common. I am talking about 2004-06 era.

The officer made the policy, that whenever any incident happen in his police chowki area, he will bring in all the known goons and bash them mercilessly in the Thana, irrespective of whether they've done the crime or not.
That officer literally terrified the entire criminals of Nazirabad so much so that they became the first to report to the officer, if they overheard any such crime happening. Withing 6 months of his tenure, it became one of the most peaceful areas of the entire state, let alone the district.

I've explained metaphorically, need to do the same treatement with Pak as well.

Excellent post.

However our neighbours think they are Jaggi.

India has a unique problem, we are surrounded by adversaries atleast on 3 fronts (Pak, China and Ban).
Nepal, SL, Bhutan, Myanmar aren't hostile...so we have to atleast try to keep our borders intact with them. Specially with Nepal and Myanmar as they're at risk, SL has dodged the bullet somehow.

How do we deal with our adversaries is the question ?

1. For Pak, start militarising BLA, TTP groups like Pak did with Jaish-e-Mohd, Lashkar-e-Toyba....given them arms and ammunitions. Keep Pak engaged on their western front, and the more these groups will attack on Pakjab, more it will foil the BRI and Gwadar as army will be under pressure from their common public. Make BLA, TTP as Mukti Bahini 2.0

2. For Bangladesh, it's pretty straight forward and simple solution. Choke their Chittagong and Akhaura port, increase the Naval activities in the Bay of Bengal, and arm the Arakan Army. Our goal has to be to cut off the Rangpur Division and CHittagong division from Bangladesh...Rangpur will give us extra land for Siliguri Corridor, Chittagong will give access to sea for NE, share the port and land access with Myanmar. Push the non-Hindu population further into the deep Bangladesh and keep those 2 divisions only with Hindu, Buddhists and Christian population.

3. For China, develop a strong Naval base in Minicoy, Nicobar island, as well as expand Chabahar port. Our Naval ships should see throught the stretch from Malacca, to Maldives, to Gulf of Oman. Even negotiate with Mauritius and setup a naval base there. We are anyway arming the countries like Phillipines, Vietnam with our indigenious weapons, continue the same. It won't be a bad idea to talk with Taiwan as well and see if we can gain something.

4. We also need to pump money into the Armed forces. All those infrastructure development, SEZ's, will be of no use if we are militarily vulnerable. Pak is no match for us, real threat is China. I'm not sure if our AD system is equipped enough to handle the entire land border, but even if it is, we need to keep on upgrading it so that in case of a potential conflict again with China support Pak (it may happen once Pak acquires the 5 gen aircrafts), we should not only be able to defend ourselves, but also launch offensive strikes from all 3 wings.

5. Lastly, become an arms exporter to the world, Arms industry is competitive but it will bring massive amount of cash if done correctly.

yet so called world media dont talk about that.

We only have ourselves to blame for leaving the vaccum in information warfare, don't expect the world to do your bidding, didn't we do the same in Russia/Ukraine conflict, we prioritized our interests, everyone is in for their interests, and the western media's interests lie with China because they have invested heavily in international media.

This is not an issue of capability, but this is a generational gap, most of our politicians and bureaucrats, all the decision makers are 70+, our NSA is 80, our military generals are 60+, most of them are stuck in 20th century, do they even know how 21st century tech works, today SM is equally as important as MSM if not more. Heck, we don't even have tri-service DG Information Warfare and Strategic Planning, let that sink in.

Do we even have an international media house that reports news from an Indian perspective, like the US has CNN, NYT, WaPo, UK has BBC, China has CGTN, SCMP, Russia has RT, Turkey has TRT World, Qatar has Al Jaejera, all major to middle to powers invest in media, What do we have Doordarshan, and let's be honest, do even Indians watch Doordarshan? We do not understand how important narrative is today's globalized world, the world might have moved from colonization, but it has just shifted towards economic domination, and narrative is important in today's globalized world, because if it was military and violence to occupy the countries to kill their future till 20th century, today it's economic sanctions to do the same.

China has invested more that 6 billion dollars in international media, we cannot even invest 4-5 billion in jet engine, all we do is laadli behen yojana, they have content sharing agreements with international media, they paid WaPo, WSJ etc for content placement to run a weekly article called China Watch, that allows them to push their narrative, they cultivated sympathetic journalists who can push editorial bias in favor of China, they have 100s of foreign bureaus. All state backed media backed directly or indirectly, push their narrative not just Chinese news network, but all other countries, whether it's BBC, CNN, Al Jajeera, they all push their narrative in the name of fair and objective reporting.

Indian government banned TikTok in 2020, which is an alright decision, I do not blame the government for it, it was a correct decision from national security POV, but they had no foresight to maintain international presence on TikTok to counter anti India propaganda, the amount damage that has been done on TikTok, I don't know how long will it take to undo that. Chinese have banned the western SM in China, but they still have massive international presence on X to counter any anti Chinese narrative.

Also you need to look inwards as well, we need urgent police and jusdicial reforms, don't give the adversaries opportunities to use your weakness to run propaganda against you, sorting your internal mess is also important.

I will be honest countries like China, Israel have much better understanding and strategy to deal with information warfare than our boomer decision makers, who I am not sure, if they even understand this.

We seriously need some young people in Ministry of I&B who understand Genz and how today's tech works. We learned from our mistakes in Balakot from military POV and improved, I am sure we will learn from our mistakes in Operation Sindoor, but we didn't learn anything from information warfare in 2019, and I am not hopeful we will do it in 2025, not until there is a generational change in our leadership.

It has nothing to do with in which camp you are in, but the problem is our own inability to understand the issues and fill the gaps.

You don't know the whole story, and are basically trying to connect dots in dark.
Not everyone is a "yes-man" to foreign bosses in corporate, and in India there are ways to push back even the foreign bosses.

And yes, there are ways to re-align the resources. One has to be smart enough with that, no one will blow a "trumpet" that I won't work with so and so person coz he is from a particular nation. In Corporate jobs even the escalations are done "diplomatically" in a "professional" way.

well, thats not what you claimed earlier.

of course there's ways to sideline consultants in a 'diplomatic professional' way, but you were out here chest thumping that you wont work with Pakistanis.

The stomach for losses in  not great here. If we admitted of lost jets initially, the entire nation would have descended into bickering farce.

well I'm not so sure. I 'get' what GoI and IndMil was going for - discipline in communications, focus on job at hand, but strategic communications is something that they'll learn from this.

Who did well….. looks like you were eagerly waiting for something like this(interview) since start, aur ab ja ke itney dino ki frustration (sleepless  nights) vent out karney ka mauka mila.:phehe:. Just because you stay in US and lick Pakistani @ss to earn some dollar dont think everyone should abide by it. Pakistani and each one of them are enemy to each and every indian so don’t preach this bullshit we cant do discrimination to a particular ethnicity, you cant do as you are timid person and worrying about your job and lifestyle in US but dont generalise this for each and every Indian.

 you clearly have a reading disability - 'they' refers to IAF here.

workplace discrimination against ethnicities is illegal in most of the west. And honestly, should be in India as well.

Do you have hemorroids? why are you so cranky?

Just because I disagree with your perspective doesn't make me any less supportive of India.  Mind your manners and language.  One more personal attack at me and some other mod might ban your rude ass again.  I don't believe in petty banning and censorship but others may not stand for it.

we've done that now I believe - publicly state that we won't differentiate between military and terror targets going forward.

Yes its frustrating, but I think the discipline shown in initial targeting was worth it.

Quoting you again.. looks like you have switched PAF and IAF

credit to PAF they used the AWACS to network-target well beyond the range that IAF was expecting - itscredit to them

Same lines were said post Balakot.

Paxtan's op Swift "Retard" in 2019 was based on attacking our military infrastructure..

They are clear in their thought process.

Meanwhile MeA and Jaishankar "we have only targeted their terror camps and training centres" after day 1.

CDS laying it out in the open has thrown a curveball at bureaucracy...  That next time they don't pull this stunt and restrict Armed forces.

My only gripe with CDS is he should have said all that not in front of Bloomberg or in foreign land.  He should have said all this in India and in front of Indian media.

Indian public would have taken care of political brass.

@All those who say that we should have bombed their AWACS before attacking terror camps need to understand that if India had done this it would have made them appear as military aggressors globally.

Instead, bombing terror infra first was given full support by all global leaders except China/Azerbaijan/Turkiye. US too fully supported India until one of their F16s got destroyed at Bholari.

Optically this makes India look like a nation that prioritizes peace, growth and development, and will only use force to counter terrorism. Otherwise going by traditional war strategy all will still argue that the air defense should have been attacked first before hitting terror infra.

However, now it seems that any form of terrorism will be seen as an act of war going forwards. Let's see.

This. Agree that by targeting only terror camps and losing some equipment wouldn’t give them the moral high ground of not being the aggressor and also say that we had warned them not to retaliate, but they still retaliated.. hence could freely do more damage to the PakMil in return.

But CDS needn’t have to make all this public and his interview to Bloomberg was a narrative disaster. Should have let this narrative to think tanks to promote it rather than from the horse’s mouth
