Gollum Posted May 17, 2025 Author Posted May 17, 2025 (edited) Remember Sachin during his bad phase (2005-06) turning up to play village cricket in England, Lashings XI and similar stuff in University grounds. That man's dedication was something else, no wonder he had one more peak in his late 30s despite achieving everything. He is the greatest student of the game, played his last Ranji game in 2013 while Kohli didn't play one from 2012 onwards. Gave up cover drive in 2004 Aus, which is bread and butter shot for any player. Only Smith has shown that level of dedication and discipline. Both great problem solvers as well, Kohli never bothered working on his flaws post 2020. Edited May 17, 2025 by Gollum EnterTheVoid, New guy, putrevus and 2 others 5

Pr for Rohit sharma too os through the roof. The impression being created is 2 legends were being hard done by and not even given a proper farewell. Surprised even someone like Kumble is peddling this. Nobody talks about how we botched up another chance at winning BGT . We were 1-0 up and then went on to losing 1-4. Batters just didn't show up in last 4 test matches and that Bozo's captaincy didn't help. It was clear writing on wall that these 2 senior batters were holding test team back. We won't magically start winning test matches without Ro-Ko but when newbies like NKR, Jaiswal are taking major burden of scoring runs and being senior player you are doing some random shyte bakchodi on field without having secondary skill and shyte fielding should never be accepted. rollingstoned, Ultimate_Game and nevada 2 1

Sachin knew that the game was what made him who he is and never forgot that no matter how much he was worshipped. He had his feet firmly on the ground always. Even dhoni despite him overstaying has enphasised this often when he speaks to younger cricketers to be grateful and not get ahead of themselves. The game giveth and also taketh away. Kohli realised this very late on imo else he would have played Ranji and domestic domestic matches earlier. Blame ipl also that these players are too busy nowadays. If he was "torturing", then every other legend tortured india much more. Kohli did it 5 times more than Sachin. He played 200 tests because he was good enough for 190 and thought he can play more. You are completely shameless using words like "torturing" for one of the biggest legend of indian crickets who hung on for the shortest period after losing form. The only selfish losers are the ones who are like leeches who feel legends are entitled to their pettiness. You are missing the point. If he was good for 190 tests why did he not retire instead of torturing till 200 tests. And why stop at 200? Let me tell you why ... because it was all about personal milestone and selfishness to reach the 200 landmark at expense of the team
kepler37b Posted May 26, 2025 Posted May 26, 2025 Cricketers like Kohli will continue to exploit the indian emotions, for money, till BCCI comes down strong. Any player that crosses 35 must be force-retired from all formats. We are not like Oz. We have an almost infinite talent pool and start investing time in young players. diga and Ultimate_Game 1 1

Agree that once players get to the wrong side of 30s, they shouldn't have any rope left. As soon as they hit a rough patch after getting into mid 30s, that should be it. Coz the upside to backing players after they are in mid 30s is negligible. Even if they come out of the slump, then what? They're already about to retire so why not invest that time and effort in a youngster? But unfortunately in India we carry likes of Kohli and Rohit even when they're close to 40 while someone like Jaiswal isn't even a regular in ODIs and T20Is, and the best potential captain we have (Iyer) can't even make it to the squad! Agree. Let buddhas continue to play in IPL till they are 40-45, whatever. Don't mind at all. MSD can do what he wants to CSK, nobody here cares. But he stayed on far too long in national team setup in white ball and cost us at least one major ICC title. nevada and Ultimate_Game 2

No word from his side for Op Sindoor, too concerned about feelings of Pak fans. Great cricketer but a narcissist like others from Bhaiwood. Edited May 28, 2025 by MechEng Ultimate_Game and nevada 2

You are whining about 10 tests for someone who gave 21 years of blood and sweat for his country? If he had continued after 200 you would have cried even more. And you are the same hypocrite who is defending kohli for five years. Imagine being this disingenuous and dishonest you are crying about 10 matches for our biggest legends whole praising someone who hung on for FIVE years Your points become stupider and stupider and you come across like a spoiled entitled toddler here who thinks these legends owe internet losers something. Just admit you got caught with your pants down with the kohli Sachin comparison and have since been backtracking And once again you use the word torture showing your aukat. New guy Posted May 28, 2025 Posted May 28, 2025 (edited) The extent some loser kohli fans can stoop to when they use words like torture for 10 matches while their legend has been torturing the team for 5+ years 10 extra match is selfish but five+ years of depriving youngsters is not selfish Shameless hypocrites. They are the biggest reason kohli gets so much hate, they have hated on many past indian legends. Edited May 28, 2025 by New guy

putrevus Posted May 29, 2025 Posted May 29, 2025 People need to stop bringing Sachin into every discussion. Sachin was steady eddy nothing better than that, his stats helped himself more than his team. Kohli is clear case of burnout playing lone warrior for decade in all three formats with full intensity. He never got over his slump. He never worked on his weaknesses either so it is his own fault. But at his peak he was more helpful to his team than Sachin ever was to his teams. There is a reason why our genius Sachin never cracked even 900 ratings in either formats. Nonbeliever and Ultimate_Game 2
