With RoKo gone who do you want to be there on the tour

 

I'm  inclined to give another chance to Iyer at no. 5. His game is improved v bounce and is a fast scorer at no. 5

Axar hasn't played a SENA Test yet. Its between Jadeja and Sundar.

 

Kuldeep can be considered on drier pitches, though with English weather, safe option is going with 4 pace options

Alot hinges on A tour performances for me. Good performances from two or three of Sai/Nair/Devdutt/Jurel I batting and Arshdeep could see them in the first 11

 

Question marks over Shami fitness unfortunately 

 

Id Suggest Iyer should lead A team:

 

Paddikal, Sudharshan, Nair, Iyer, Jurel, Sarfaraz, NKR, H Dubey, Arshdeep, Vaibhav, Prasidh 

 

Akshay Wadkar, Anshul, Kotian,...

There will not be major changes as Rohit,Virat and Ashwin are retired.

 

Most of the squad from Australia tour would be selected.

That needs to change. Batting a keeper too high in the order is one of the things that has been misfiring in the Indian squad and this is the time to fix it. Pant should ideally be a number 7 or 6 at best. This needs to happen even if Pant is technically probably better than than the candidates in test cricket. There needs to be a clear separation of roles between the specialist batsmen who have to carry the load for run scoring, and the keeper who can do an occasional support job but should not be regularly coming in int he first 10 overs like Pant has been doing in the last year.

Pant should bat at 6. India need to groom proper at 5. Batting Pant at 5 didn't work in Australia for us.

We have a core of a good team.

Bumrah should be appointed captain.

 

We have very good bowling attack in Bumrah, Shami,Siraj,Prasiddh, Harshit and Akashdeep. Bowlers can be rotates well .

 

If Nitish Reddy is fit than he would be big bonus.His bowling will be useful in England. 

 

We have good wicket keeper batsman in Rahul,Pant and Jurel.

 

Gill,Jaiswal, Paddikal, Sarfaraj should bat consistently. 

 

The selectors should be brave and select some players in the squad who can be successful in English conditions.

 

The team management doesn't believe in Eashwaran, so young opener  should be backed.

Selectors should select Karun Nair in the squad
