Whoever wants Rohit (or Kohli) back it won’t be me.

They’ve had their time.  Thanks for your service.

There is no reason whatsoever to bring back older players with little or no future, when you should be investing in a new generation.

The Hitman. The guy who could smash bowlers for breakfast—but only if breakfast didn’t tire him out first.

Let’s face it: watching Rohit Sharma in recent matches has been like watching a lion… who’s just had a big lunch and decided he’d rather nap than hunt. Sure, the man’s got class, but lately, his footwork has looked more like a confused cha-cha than elite athleticism.

To his credit, when a ball heads  directly towards Rohit’s mitts is probably one of the few times he makes it count. In the field otherwise, you can actually go grab a coffee, come back, and still catch him trying to bend over.

Fitness is temporary. Timing is forever? Maybe.

But even timing needs a little help from the hamstrings. While the rest of the team is being drilled into shape, Rohit’s idea of cardio seems to be walking briskly to the toss. He’s less “match fit” and more “match adjacent.” The guy who looks like he’s just come back from a family buffet and remembered, “Oh crap, I have a game today.”

Why we won’t miss him?
Because watching cricket should raise your blood pressure out of excitement, not frustration. And while Rohit’s legacy is undeniable, recent performances make it clear: the man needs a rest, a dietician, or at least a fitness tracker that screams.

Thanks for the memories, Rohit. May your sixes stay in highlights and your fitness goals… well, may they start existing.

5 test centuries scored by Indian batsmen, imagine if they lose.

No wonder 100’s were scored, it is flat.

Scoring 100’s one thing, scoring 100’s that result in wins is another.

Rohit scored 12 100’s in his career all in wins, impactful batsmen.

Well said.

No no, wickets in India since 2020 have been spinning paradises. Rohit started opening in the fall of 2019, SA could not live with India spin, Rohit scored 3 100’s in the series itself.

If it was that easy all the batsmen would have scored in India since 2020, only Pant and Rohit were good in India during this time.

Rohit did score a 100 in WI and England also.

I agree, Rohit is not even good test batsman forget being great. His captaincy was  worse. So no Indian team will miss player and captain like him in tests.

we would have lost at home with out rohit in last two years he was India's best batsman .At home we had hard pitches and with kohli out of form.Rohit saved us blushes.Expext india to lose more at home in coming matches.

Cummins did not bowl all the overs in one big spell the way Rohit made Bumrah bowl, and without enough rest. Both bowling 20 overs in a day is not the same when one bowls most of his overs in one session. Plus Rohit the batter didn't help out his bowler by averaging in single digits and putting the team under pressure from the get go.

In Tests Rohit was never a "tactical" captain. He was utterly useless with poor field settings and even poorer bowling rotation.

With one bowler rohit did what he could.Nobody can be tactical captain in one format.Field settings we good if only catches were taken .

all of rohits centuries resulted in team VICTORIES

meanwhile these FIVE centuries have resulted only in a loss

this shows how valuable rohits hundred were. many times he was the only centurion

'Bring Back Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma': After India's Loss Against England In 1st Test, Fuming Fans React

The Indian cricket team's new era under captain Shubman Gill got off to a rocky start as they were beaten by England in the first Test match on Tuesday.

thread is already solved. answer was 1st test

I was going to go with the populist flow and say never as cricket moves on, then at day 3 of the 1st test I said hang on… let’s wait. Now at the end of the 1st test, wonder what could have been. These are the pitches and bowling Ro scores 200s for fun in Odis, just imagine him on this pitch :yum:. Missing Ro.

also @sage could have turned the ball more than Bashir and Jadeja and would

Gobble up catches in slips.
