AKane Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 There should be a basic rule for selecting fast bowlers.... "If you cannot bowl 4 balls out of 6 at >= 140 kmph..... please do not apply for the position". The first and most basic condition of the tryout should be bowl 6 balls and at least 4 should meet the above condition. Suhaan and MK55 2

vayuu1 Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 My team would be Kl Jaiswal Jurel Gill Pant Reddy Sundar Kuldeep Akashdeep Siraj Arshdeep
BCCISelector Posted June 28, 2025 Posted June 28, 2025 Arshdeep bowls too straight with the red ball as if lbw and bowled are the only modes of dismissal. He needs to probe the corridor more frequently which is key for a swing bowler. His effectiveness with the older ball in flat conditions will also be tested. He has a bowling average of 30 in his 21 match first-class career. He averaged 42 at a strike rate of 75 in 5 county games for Kent. He's probably going to be only slightly better than Prasidh. Akash Deep was extremely unlucky in Australia and must be given a longer rope. At least he has the right ingredients and can bowl long spells. Lord, bouncers, tweaker and 1 other 4

tweaker Posted June 29, 2025 Posted June 29, 2025 Even after so much gap between 2 test ,Bumrah is not playing. He could have made himself available for 2nd test and should have not played 3rd test BacktoCricaddict 1
putrevus Posted June 30, 2025 Posted June 30, 2025 (edited) I don't understand why Bumrah cannot play second test after so much gap in between two tests.Planning for five test series around Bumrah is not going to happen. Bumrah is happy playing for his IPL team but he becomes choosy for Indian team. Depending on one player is the main issue here, Indian team should be prepared for life without Bumrah. What's more demanding for him? Test cricket is hard, maybe he knows his body the best so we cannot blame him. Today it is Bumrah and tomorrow it will be other fast bowlers who will choose IPL over test cricket. We have Pandya already doing it. If there was no IPL would Pandya have done it? But it would very wise for India to start looking for alternatives too. Edited June 30, 2025 by putrevus

tweaker Posted June 30, 2025 Posted June 30, 2025 If there were other bowlers who could bowl better and it would be difficult for Bumrah to directly play in playing 11. Bumrah knows the selector have done such a fine job that he can easily play and skip matches. Even Siraj or Prasiddh have no worry because they know there are no bowlers to replace them. Ajit Agarkar has wasted lots of time on Mukesh,Avesh etc. BCCI should reward the decision maker who send back Rana even after knowing Bumrah will skip the 2nd test. Tough decision should have been taken after loosing home series to New Zealand.

No one saying he should play all tests this series,8 day gap isn't enough that too in these fair conditions? IPL is more demanding in scorching heat compared to play two consecutive tests in these contrasting fair conditions with more than enough gap between first two tests

express bowling Posted July 1, 2025 Author Posted July 1, 2025 (edited) Reading an article I got the impression that Bumrah's surgeon has advised him not to play more than 3 tests in a series. It's more a matter of either T1, T3, T5. or T1, T2, T4 / T5 So it is a tactical decision. Edited July 1, 2025 by express bowling Stan AF 1
