ya ofcourse just play tonty tonty all year round- our grassroot cricket will be tailored to create hacks and cutter chuckers

T20 is set to become the premier format, even Olympics will feature T20s. Truly global sport, test cricket albeit a purist's favorite is too niche and will never grow beyond SENAI.

Yes every local board is starting a t20 league. Odisha t20 is going on. the quality is not that high but production quality is good.

For small teams its the issue with talent pool. There is a huge diff between major domestic teams' t20 leagues and the others. Think there is alot of area of corruption to.

How local boards and bcci will handle it is to be seen.

A league with good mix of IPL level player makes it look so different, the hitting ability, bowling fielding is way ahead of those with low number IPL players.

there is already aug-oct window before domestic season starts

I think Nepal should be included as part of these City leagues.

V.hard until Npl board agrees to bear the expenses. Plus they would want to play the top domestic league incase they want or agree to.

They played T20 academy level league in Aus where Pak A and Bd A teams were there. Plus they sent team to play Assam as well.

Npl may be trying but no local board will pay for expenses for an Intnl. team. And if anything goes wrong logistically (which usually does will bring bad name to that board/league).

Think one time Bd played in Ind domestic (not sure the level/ series) and domestic team lost a game and it created a lot of drama

They can work with IPL franchises to send their player when there is camp or something and get some kind of arrangement

2 medals will be up for grabs in Olympics from now on, format T20. I am sure LA 28 will be a resounding success (followed by Brisbane 32 where cricket is a confirmed sport) and cricket is here to stay, a huge market for IOC which penetrates into many sporting minnow countries with massive population and fast growing economies. Olympics broadcast deals go into billions of $.

BCCI better take this format seriously, they owe their country 2 medals including a gold every single time.

Proliferation of T20 leagues all over India is a welcome step, will further professionalize the sport.

Yup.

The other countries have abandoned tests tbh.

India is big enough that even a small niche of fans can support it plus the riches from white ball can subsidize it.

Agree. Which is why winning the WT20 was huge for me as the game gets more global recognition. Claiming it as mickey mouse cup is not looking at the bigger picture.

Hope we can add another next March. Imagine entering the Olympics as 2 time defending champs:bandit:

Other than the North East, do you know which states in India still DO NOT have their own T20 league?

Any idea if these states are getting their own T20 leagues soon?

Also, which other states (barring NE) do not have their own leagues yet other than these 3?

Other then them think svs and rlwys are the only boards left for obvious reasons, they can not have larg group of players.

Bhr is hard because of the ongoing issues with the board itself, jrknd does not have players pool. Hryn can do it.

The idea here is any board is capable of getting 3+ team they can have a league. Bcci does not offer any resistance (rightly so). local businesses are ok to invest gives them exposure to franchise base leagues plus hopes to collaboration with IPL franchises as a feeding teams to the IPL teams.

BCCI should act smart and limit tonty-tonty to 20+ aged players.
