Rohit is already old at 38 and will be 40 in 2027. He can sit among spectators and cheer India like ABD did for SA. It's time for him to step aside.

I dont feel sorry for Kohli and Rohit, they had a golden opportunity to retire on a high after winning 2 trophies but they are still hanging on even though they dont play any cricket except IPL .how are the selectors  going to assess their ODI form?

Gambhir isn't someone who tolerates seniors for long, he will show them the door at the earliest opportunity.

KL was very good in CT.

He was made to bat below axar Patel in the match.

Clearly management is wary about his 66(107) type perfomance

It's good that the captaincy is removed from Rohit.

It makes sense to have both Rohit and Kohli in the selection fray for the 50 over world cup. If anything, that would make the current Indian batsmen up their game.

50 over matches are different. Rohit might be too old for that but Kohli in 50 overs is a different monster.

3 formats, 3 captains is the way to go. Too much power in the hands of one will have a corrupting influence.

And Gill has shown in the past (Zim T20I series last year) that if given captaincy role, he will look out only for his interests, even if it means throwing his 'BFF' Abhishek Sharma under the bus.

At the very least, different captains for white ball and red ball.

Also, i don't understand the obsession with all format players, let alone all format captain. Most if not all players should be kept to two formats. Jaiswal is probably the only all format player IMO.

Gill is clearly a Gambhir cheerleader hence getting all the rewards. May even captain us in WT20

The strain of all format captaincy will take a toll. Shelf life in India for all format captains seems to be 5 years.....Dada, MSD, Kohli all were spent forces after 4-5 years.

Gill's career may end by the time he is 30, which will be a pity.

Yeh theek nahi ho raha hai milords

I'd rather have a captain from the middle order than the opener.

Gill has been  a major failure in big games

Even if they want to keep Jaiswal away from T20s, wouldn't it be more prudent to give back Samson his opening spot and play Iyer in the middle order instead of Gill.

Iyer is surely more clutch than Gill in white ball and should be VC is T20s and take over when SKY leaves.

Iyer should also be the front runner for captaincy in ODIs.

Poor call to make Gill captain. All format captains have poor longevity as was evident with Kohli and Rohit as well.

So true.Captaining all formats will take its toll.It is not easy Kohli is prime example.

All said and done certain moves are not understandable.  Samson was part of ODI set up. JUrel was not. How come Jurel leapfrogged ahead of him.

I think Indian selectors are obsessed with getting young kids and getting a 10-15 year career out of them.

But that should not always be the goal. The Australian style of gettign guys in their late 20s and early 30s and getting 4-5 good years should also be considered sometimes.

Partly at least because Samson is a top order bat and we are well stocked there. Jurel can bat at five or six where we need more options.

Samson did score a ton in SA but I Would suggest Jurel "feels" like a better ODI bat, someone who can bat through the middle overs well.
