We generally underperform against them in KOs. In 2007 WT20 final we played our worst match of the tournament, even Mohali 2011 SF was way inferior to our F and QF performances. 

 

India still has the quality to beat them in KOs, gulf in ability is huge, but can't deny that there is a world of difference between how we play in group stages and KOs against them. Even this Asia Cup, it took something special from Tilak and Dube. 

Tilak,Dube and Rinku have clutch genes and they have performed at the biggest stages. Rinku not so much but he hasn't been given many chances.

Looks like there is a dearth of talent or probably disease of picking up low grade allrounders and hacks over proper specialist players caught up at junior level as well.

 

Not a single bowler or allrounder look any worth.

 

Only George looks to have some batting acumen. Suryavanshi is a clear hack, he will go the Prithvi Shaw way in 2 years. Kundu might come good but lot of questions on his keeping.

That's because Pak never qualify for the KOs. The day they frequently qualify our ICC World Cup streak will be broken. They have a better chance of beating us in the KOs than in the league stages as we tend to choke a lot.

Our hockey, kabaddi, junior tennis players had no problem shaking hands with Pooks post Sindoor. And some of those guys have family members serving in the army. Once you decide to play, no need for unnecessary drama.

Again, I differ completely on this .

 

You brought up men's finals and then said we lose because of pressure.  Completely ignoring the fact that they were a far superior ODI side until 2006 .

 

They were beating us purely on skill .

 

All those Sharjah and Pepsi Cups, they were far ahead of us in skill alone. 

 

Our white ball cricket was rubbish to average until 2007.

Nobody in this cares anywhere near as much as about those sports in this country as much as they do about cricket.

Don't you believe that we generally play below our actual skill level due to the added pressure of playing in the KOs. That is when Pakistan has the best chance of winning against us. We already saw that in CT17 and we nearly lost the Asia Cup due to the same factor.

1960 Rome Olympics final haunts many Indian players and fans till date, we had won the previous 6 Olympic gold medals and also in 1964 Tokyo, and that Indian team was far greater than the Pak one...Pak emerged as a superpower only from late 60s-early 70s. If you include all major tournaments, they must be +10 against us in KOs, many of those wins when they were underdogs. India broke the voodoo courtesy Sreejesh in 2014 Asian Games (Incheon) final where we finally won in shootout, one of my favorite hockey games of all time, was in train en route to Mysore that day.

Our players generally tend to play under a lot more pressure in the ICC KOs than the other teams as stakes are high for our team. Winning an ICC tournament will fetch a lot of money, reputation, legacy and all the shebang with it. That's why our players tend to choke as there's a lot riding on them.

Lately we are producing sloggers. Having said that choosing to bowl first in biggest final is a holler. No accountability in choosing shitty individuals like joshi and kanitkar again and again. Lately BCCI has become so pathetic that they dont have any shame left bc, playing game after game against aatankwadis and then also getting humiliated. BC once asia cup was done why these @ssholes needed to arrange this tourney. Now look at a press conference by their prime minister and isi chief. Even out senior chutiyas will loose in colombo under gg.
