Zero_Unit Posted February 18 Posted February 18 (edited) nah bro, the day he takes on the pressure and plays a knock like Kohli on one of the most pressure situaiton ever, we can put him on the throne. Bro comes out and smacks from ball one without any pressure on his shoulder. He knows that if he gets out, India has a huge batting talent so doesn't matter. Need to recover fully and then have a longish stint in the nets. And against Ned he should take a few deliveries to get in and then play shots. He needs some sort of form going into Super 8s. Even a 30-40 score would make him feel much better. This illness/flu happened at the absolute wrong time, just like Gill's Dengue in 2023 WC. And if he's unlikely to recover fully I say the selectors make a bold move and get Jaiswal to replace him. I think he struggles on two-paced surfaces, can't get his timing right.
Gollum Posted February 18 Posted February 18 I think Abhi will do well in coming matches. Once he gets to Indian pitches with their consistent pace, he will be back to his best. RPS wasn't his kind of surface.

And probably a lesson for him that he can take a few balls to get his eye in on SL pitches. In SL the winning score isn't 200+ and is likely to be around 170-180. He can afford to take a few deliveries before he launches.

Batting coach should drill some sense into him. Ultimate_Game 1

Stan AF Posted February 18 Posted February 18 In Tamil comedy , there's a character called leg dada. Meaning wherever that character goes that place will be screwed. This thread is an example of that leg dada syndrome.
Stan AF Posted February 18 Posted February 18 ICC tourneys exposing what IPL, Paytm, cycle agarbatthi and apollo tyres trophies failed to do.

Bowled one over, got smashed. His body language during fielding looks negative. His throws to the Keeper were wayward too. Might as well get I Kishan injured, with his terrible throws.
putrevus Posted February 22 Posted February 22 I gave this guy benefit of doubt but they way he batted today against fast bowlers was disappointing. You still need some sort of technique to build an innings.Handling fast bowlers under pressure is a must for opening batsman.
