My biggest fear regarding T20 WC

Even before 23 WC, Ashwin was vocal about match timings. And it cost us on Nov 19. Here also, he is worried. But BCCI will bend their knees before broadcasters.

Raipur T20I: Ashwin raises concern over dew factor, bats for more afternoon T20Is in India

Ashwin said on such dewy evenings India bowlers could be prone to unfair scrutiny as he hoped the forthcoming T20 World Cup's Indian leg would not stick out as sore thumb.

After watching yesterday's highlights, it was clear that dew was a big factor in the fielding mishaps and in the innocuous bowling. Toss will play a disproportionate role.

BTW, the headline says ".... we can plan batter." Sounds like Punjangrezi.

Ive now realised my biggest fear is @BacktoCricaddict filling up the entire 1st page of this forum during WT20

Jk :wp87:...

Saturday morning, impending ice storm, chance of no electricity for next few days, so maximizing ICF time when I can. Once my work starts after that, your fears shall be allayed :-)!!!

T20s lose their essence as soon as they are played in day time.

They are meant to be entertaining.

That's why India playing T20Is in day time in West Indies and in England always pissed me off..

All other countries don't do that except BCCI

Carribbean people were literally protesting that wtf is wrong with ICC... They hosted a morning T20 game of India on a Sunday morning mass.. and stands were empty I recall barring some expat Indians from US.

Night games in last T20 WC were iconic otoh with local attendance and electric atmosphere

Dew lost us 2016, but it also the batting that aimed too low. Rahane on record he was very happy to get 190 and they aimed for 170

Must aim high now. Though I feel Varun,Boom and Hardik are decent in dew

Coaching staff and management were sleeping. In Wankhede just a week before Eng chased down 232 against Rabada, Steyn and Tahir and here they were happy with 170 on that ground lol.

There's no way we are going to have day games in this day and age. Ashwin is being completely unrealistic.

Better to start matches at 8 pm, so that both teams get the advantage of dew.

Ashwin also wanted the 50 over World Cup to start at 11:30-12:00 - again unrealistic

Although ICC's start time at 2:30 was terrible and should've started at 1:30 pm instead like Indian bilaterals

Can’t they start a couple of hours earlier? Not sure it helps though unless we get the timing right. At least as by starting late, the conditions r consistent over both the innings.

Why not start at 4-5 pm? One complete innings under lights, dew also won't set in.

Broadcasters haven't paid such ridiculous amounts of money for ICC tournaments to be held at that time in India.

We don't even hold bilateral T20Is at that time.

I can't remember the last time we had multiple T20Is in India with early start time.
