Axar is good as a VC, but dunno if he has the personality traits to be a captain. Samson is a better bet, and has experience leading RR, taking them to the final once, and in top 4 a few times. There were rumours floating that the final would be his last game, clearny doesn't appear to be the case. Now a big call must be taken, he has been underperforming a lot for last 1.5 years and is only getting older.

While SKY is allowed to have his personal goals, his selection is on the selectors. 2028 is away. Selectors would not likely ask people to retire from a format, they simply will not pick a player (while stating the line of trying youngsters). We could be over speculating as his selection in 2028 would be dependent on his form, fitness, etc. Right now, let us give him his moment as the world cup winning captain.
