its not Iyers fault than EVERY single bowler in his team was godawful and they were are veteran international bowlers too.

He had to do something about it,he couldn't just watch helplessly game after game.He had Brar on the team but didn't play him, which was also his fault. There were a few others he could have used to see what worked best for the team

Kishan himself introduced 2 rookies after losing 3 out of 4 games in the game vs RR

You got to be trusting your personnel you have, that is a captain, leadership material for people

As far as T20I team is concerned, Iyer is an outsider. Not wise to make such a guy captain, may cause resentment in others. Can't just walk in and assume captaincy, prove that you deserve a spot in the XI. I am not sure Iyer>Patidar right now. And considering venue of next WC, need to be careful.

Why complicate matters? Make Sanju or Ishan the captain. Both are clutch, deserve their place in the XI and also have captaincy experience, Sanju in RR and Ishan for SRH (briefly) and U-19/SMAT. I would prefer Sanju because of his temperament, him as captain, Ishan or Tilak as VC and see what they do, enough time for LA games.

i fully agree with that point because the current indian t20 squad runs like a well oiled machine with great unity and breaking that chemistry by bringing in an outsider as captain is a terrible idea just look at the disaster that happened with mumbai indians

Exactly. BCCI should look at the chaos in MI setup before rushing to make such an important decision. Live example of how team chemistry overrides everything else.

This Iyer bubble wil burst soon. Good unselfish player but itna overhype na karo, touting him as some saviour of Indian cricket. T20 team doesn't need any saving, already a well-oiled machinery.

he did try, they dropped Jansen who has completely lost it and seems to be running on fumes after the WC ,the biggest problem was Arshdeep who was their main PP and death over bowler and he was bad in both areas.you are going to struggle when your main wicket takers are not taking wickets and also bleeding runs.

the reality is that the indian t20 team does not need iyer because his strike rate is even lower than virat  and he first needs to prove that he can bat at a much higher strike rate in international cricket

I think he is an improved player now, but as you said, let him prove himself first.

The issue about Iyer is where do you put him in?

Abhishek, Samson, Tilak, Ishan have done nothing wrong to lose their spots.

Vaibhav is someone you have to get in no matter.

Unless they plan to have six batsmen and make Abhi/Tilak bowl. Wouldn’t be a bad idea to develop their bowling till 27 wc.

Axar/Sundar also busy with red ball.

Abhi

Vaibhav

Samson

Ishan

Iyer

Tilak

Dube

Reddy

Arshdeep

Some pacer

Varun

he had enough chances. The gum-chewing idiot had enough time to work on his form. Maybe he got complacent. THINKING no way he will get fired after winning WC

Could have retired on his own, right after the world cup. He has been in terminal decline for a long time, there's no point hanging on for a turnaround that will never come.

Is this official?

Yes BCCI has kept him out of the probable list for Asian Games.

Now they have conveyed it to the media

Iyer, unnecessarily gets criticised by Indian fans. I think he is gun player, a gun batsman and a decent leader. You can always rely on him.

Reports saying that GG is pushing for Sanju as captain, but Agarkar wants his Mumbai mate Iyer.

Have to side with GG here.

Agarkar and his stupid Mumbai lobby.

So gollum bro tell me who you think has the final say and true control over selection between gambhir and agarkar
