Jasprit Bumrah has been ruled out of the upcoming Test series against Sri Lanka due to lingering discomfort in his left knee.

It's sad that an impact injury has downed the great bowler.

 

But it's good that they did not rush him back like Harshit.

 

Let him recover fully. We need a fully firing Bumrah for the next 3 years.

Atp we have to see in which marquee series we can play Bumrah.  He probably has only 2 years Max left in International cricket.   If they want him fit for tests in NZ they won't risk him in ODIs in NZ either.  

 

Opens the door for Gurnoor though but I guess they would start the SL series with Prasidh and Siraj coz of seniority.

Yes,fast bowlers have a shelf life of at most 10 to 11 years, which is seen with SENA bowlers as well.Only the relentless inhuman Aussie trio in this current multiformat era has stayed fit and raring to go for their final quest for CWC glory in SA27 to make it their swansong,credit to CA they have managed well

Hazlewood is getting repeated injuries in the last year or so.  Cummins basically started in 2017. 

 

Starc is the real outlier.

I want him to end with 300 Test wkts.

200 is good, 300 will be a key milestone.

He will play max 3 tests in a 5 test series .... so won't be easy.

Lets hope for the best. NZ is the one frontier I want him to conquer..

A 2-3 Test series where he can pick 12-15 wkts and make an impact will be of immense use.

I meant the trio is very well managed ,they have been around for 10 + years,

We have also managed Bumrah well up untill now

Hazalwood too has been there playing for Aus regularly from 2014 onwards ,while Cummins is literally as experienced as Bumrah,Starc has mostly decided to skip IPL to stay fit

Bumrah has played20 tests less than Cummins ,I think the extreme heat in IPL where he plays regularly for MI should stop now for if we want him to play more tests,he has played too less if you compare it withhis peers ,what do you think about this, particulary at this phase (age) of his career?

As muh as  a genius Bumrah is when it comes to fitness and athleticism not many can match Starc. Not even Cummins.

Bumrah has really bad luck with injuries. I think its time to consider seriously limiting his playin g tie to preserve him for important series and World cups.I think this means Brar will debut.
