zep1706
It's a pity that with so much early promise he never improved. Link to comment
bharat297
Ishant will be the first player to play 100 test matches and still have "potential". Link to comment
express bowling
Ishant Sharma's natural length is not suited to bowling in India. Most tall, bouncy pacers without the abilty to skid the ball off the surface have faced similar problems in the last 10 years. He has done well in away test matches in the last 3 years and a bit..... averaging 30 with a SR of 53. http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/player/236779.html?class=1;home_or_away=2;spanmin1=01+Feb+2014;spanval1=span;template=results;type=bowling In India, you need skiddy fast bowlers who have high release speeds and can reverse the ball most of the time..... like Shami, Umesh, Starc etc. Edited February 28, 2017 by express bowling Rightarmfast and Mosher 2 Link to comment

HE n zak used reverse swing in 2008 Ind-AUs series......... In his intial phase he was a lot better bowler then he is now. Link to comment

In his first 13 tests, he had 46 wickets at home at 28. Link to comment
maniac
Nothing wrong with the thread...in fact even during the duration of this thread since it's inception,it won't be the exaggeration to say that Ishant has bowled more match winning or best spells by any other Indian fast bowler in test cricket. sarcastic
Interesting time to bump this now that Ishant is back in form. See how Ishants image with Indian fans has changed over period of time. Link to comment
