Vinay Kumar should not have a step one. Either bowl quicker or eff off. Had enough of these medium pacers in the Indian side. I still remember Ashish Nehra and Zak clocking 90mph when they first started. I was at the Natwest Series final in 2002 at Lords, and remember seeing Zak topping 90mph on the scoreboard. He bowled **** but at least he had pace and promise. This guy - Vinay Kumar - will only get slower over time. He shouldn't play.

To be fair to Vinay, he's a thinking bowler. His Slinga was quite unexpected, and when he got Gayle out he must have jizzed in his pants. But shame that he'll only get wickets with it when batsmen have already smoked him to all corners and are charging him every delivery.. 100kph stock ball :giggle: I can't wait to see what Whispering Death makes of him.

i strongly beleive that on yesterday's track Umesh Yadav wud have become unplayable and sangakara and the opther lankan batsman wud never have negotiated 5 overs from Umesh Yadav...i bet yadav wud have finished the match in his first 5 over spell itself by taking 2 to 3 wickets, with the new ball Surviving was itself a big thing for the batsman and sangakara and company cud make some 48 of 12 overs , thats a big thing. Atleast one bowler BHUVI got 2 wickets of mahela and their opener , both were inform batsman and critical to Lanka's success, i beleive umesh cud also have got 2 wickets and match wud have nearly finished in first 10 overs itself........as then lanka wud have scored 125 to 150 runs. INdia destroyed lanka for 96 runs in the previous match with the 3 fast ballers and umesh was a bit not in that touch but still he wud have rebounded back strongly. VK is a defensive bowler where as Umesh is aggressive, on such wickets any batsman will prefer to face a defensive bowler rather than attacking bowler. if VK was such a great bowler why did dhoni under bowl him and ask him to bowl only 6 overs??? he gave 15 runs in 6 overs and 9 in 5overs.....i wud have played 4 fast bowlers on such a pitcjh.

He will be asked to bowl in a certain way by Dhoni, not that he can bowl aggressively, bowlers bowl to a plan set by the captain. When Yadav is bowled, he will be the strike bowler as he can bowl pace. BKumar will be told to bowl defensively. Unless we have 2 strike bowlers in tandem, this has always been the case. Srinath and Prasad, Zak and Munaf or aandu pandu. Given his role, VK bowled in control without giving away too many gimme-fours that Ishant bowls.
