MCcricket Posted February 12, 2012 Posted February 12, 2012 There is no doubt of Ashwin's talent with the ball and bat, he needs to improve his fitness and figure out what will work in conditions, primarily an off spinner has to flight the ball and bowl 2 or 1 stump outside off, rather then starting on the middle stump this way the finger flick and the ocassional short delivery can be covered more also he will be more economical and get more wickets.
King Tendulkar Posted August 24, 2012 Author Posted August 24, 2012 Lovley batting. If only Fatwin could bowl:cantstop:
rkt.india Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Lovley batting. If only Fatwin could bowl:cantstop: Fatwin had 25 wickets in the last and his debut test series he played in India.:winky:
Trichromatic Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Ashwin's fielding is scary. He runs as if a huge iron ball is tied to his leg.
vvvslaxman Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Another epic thread:cantstop: It is like watching Jekyll and Hyde.. he hypes a player with a thread than he goes after him in the same thread :cantstop:
Number Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Should take 300 test wickets with avg around 26-27.
Trichromatic Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Should take 300 test wickets with avg around 26-27. Then he would be greatest bowler of India.
deathmonger Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Then he would be greatest bowler of India. he could be.
Number Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Then he would be greatest bowler of India. Yes, I believe he does have the ability. But yeah still long way to go for him. For me Kumble would still be the greatest for 600+ wickets... Avg. is not a true indicator here as its not easy for wrist spinners to have good control so they go for more runs.
CG Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 Ashwin has brains allthough some might doubt it considering hid running, but he seems to know what he is doing.

Although it's difficult for leggies to control run-flow, but they get more wickets also and that too in any condition. Only offie who has been able to perform everywhere in the world is Murali. So avg isn't bad indicator for them while comparing with other spinners. I doubt that Ashwin has ability to perform outside sub-continent to have an avg of 26. Kumble and Kapil will remain greatest bowlers of India.
vvvslaxman Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 He height is a huge advantage like it was for Kumble. When he flights it really stays in the air long enough to confuse batsman. Also he slows it up. But he has to be consistent His map to right handers was spot on
GautiMaan Posted August 24, 2012 Posted August 24, 2012 ^ In a recent interview he specifically mentioned working on consistency.
Lord Posted August 25, 2012 Posted August 25, 2012 tbh,NZ allowed him to bowl.would be interesting to see how he handles Aus n Eng
