CoverDrive Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 List down the innovations you have noticed coming into the game because of the popularity of T20 1. Ramp shot - This actually started quite early and maybe even before T20 but scoop over fineleg and later over Wk have now become normal shots because of T20 2. Slow bouncer- this one was a big weapon that Eng used to win the 2010 T20 world cup and now has almost become over used. 3. Bowling full and wide out of the offstump - this was seen a lot this year with fast bowlers preferring to bowl a yorker just inside the wide line. with the right filed it can be difficult to hit. 4. Unconventional spinners - almost everyone is a mystery spinner with some kind of variations and they are more successful in T20. 5. Using spinners to start the match - again this has been used before (famously by NZ in 1992) but now it has become a norm

GautiMaan Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 The slower slower ball employed to great effect by indian bowlers like Bhatia
punjabi_khota Posted October 23, 2012 Posted October 23, 2012 The straighter one. Every ball that doesn't spin is now a 'weapon', even though the weapon is deployed 5 out of 6 times. Bhajji is the master of this non-spinning one.
Raghav_12 Posted October 24, 2012 Posted October 24, 2012 srk and security guards. Mamta Banerjee.. On a more relavant note, practice of putting your best fielders on boundary line came with 20-20 only.

Good fielder is a Good fielder regardless of era or format. Jonty Rhodes didn't play in T20 era. We are yet to see a guy who is as good as him.
