There Was a time in 2005,06 when our pacers performed brilliantly with the attack led by pathan, agarkar(he was brilliant at the end overs and the way he bowled those cutters and nagging off stump line to Gayle was superb),nehra who I remember bowled great, economical opening spells in odis

Under RD-Chappel we created a decent pool of fast bowlers. RP, Sree, Ishant, Munaf emerged under them. Zak started his come back, Irfan was decent till then (Perth test)..

Glad you brought that up because I remember a time in 2006/7 where we had 15 ODIs or so where we held the opposition to around 250 or below. I think it ended in our home series against WI right before the World Cup.

this has been beaten to pulp in several threads but looking at the number of people saying Irfan, its such a fall from fame for him. How can some one just loose their art ?

Plus Chapell was making him do too much at the same time - sending him to bat at 3 very often shifting his focus to batting.

He changed his action after a back injury which lead to his downfall in terms of pace. He lost pace from 135 in 2004 to 125 in 2006 Pakistan tour
