Why should we celebrate this ? Asteroids go phaaster and longer and natural satellites are far more enduring than man made ones. This might be entertaining to you math/science morons but smart people prefer waiting for Ra Eleven.

Fantastic job. :two_thumbs_up: It hurts me to say this. But congrats Madarasis and southies. All the scientists working there seems to be south Indians. Especially Madarasis and mallus.

So, the satellite is going to orbit earth for a month, gathering enough velocity to then escape earth's gravity, and then travel to Mars for 9 months. Once their, they would need to restart engines so that it goes into orbit around Mars.

Isnt it Cryogenic engines?
Its the indigenous cryo stage, the difference bt pslv & gslv is cryo engine which takes a satellite to geo-synchronous orbit. First attempt failed when cryo engine didnt work , second attempt aborted due to a big fuel leak in second stage of rocket.

What follows in the next 10 days would be six crucial "orbit raising operations," in the wee hours of November 6, 7, 8, 9, 11 and 16. And then, at 12.42am on December 1, the orbiter will leave the earth's orbit for a 300-day journey to the red planet.

even though I dislike Indians and anything indian (other than me' date= my friends and family) I sincerely hope this mission is a success for all the bright minds involved and the sacrifices they made.

BTW, some Money spent for this mission is not from public funds. ISRO makes money by selling weather data, renting out transponders to telecom and DTH companies. Its part of the earned amount that has been spent here. No public money is wasted here

No public money is wasted here[/quote'] The international media houses who raise the poverty issue while discussing this quite clearly have an agenda to portray India as a poor, backward country and an unsaid racist belief that brown man can't possibly be better than or be as good as the white man...
