They also had a promising test batsman (F.Bacchus) who got a test 250 but averaged only 26 after 19 tests.
nevada Posted March 14, 2014 Posted March 14, 2014 Not a Short Career but anyone remember Ritender SIngh Sodhi,he was supposed to be the next Kapil Dev,won an u-19 WC and was hailed as the next big thing...Got a run in the ODI squad and then dumped. He is unrecognisable now....I remember he was a Sardar but now I beleive he is no longer one. Besides being part of the the 19 WC winning team, he was also captain of an under 15 side which won the world cup. He played a few ODI games and hit a 50 once IIRC. He was quickly written off as "short of international class" as both batsman and bowler and disappeared from the selectors radar. Last I remember seeing him was in the ICL as a clean shaven man.

They could have had longer careers if they were born in a different era or in a different country.

Jaffar got boot because he had no clue how play pace bowling. Badri is one who has some complaint but he never performed like Laxman when he was out of team by scoring hundreds at will in domestic cricket. All three were never in great category
