Speeds and Performances of Pacers and Spinners

Recommended Posts

I find it really really strange that our selectors don't find it necessary to keep even one deck hitting and bouncy specialist pacer in the LOI squads.

Bumrah and Shami qualify but are injured. Ishant is a test specialist. Aaron is out of form and favour.   The others available are Khaleel,  Rajpoot,  Prasidh,  Mavi,  Avesh,  Khejroliya,   Aniket C.

Among the 11 deck hitting bouncy pacers discussed above  ...  Rajpoot or Khaleel are ready for LOI selection as of today.

If these selection tactics continue, bowlers would no longer be willing to bowl quick. They would only focus upon improving their stats and if bowling line n length helps to achieve that then they would stick to it.

Kohli has been disappointing. He just doesnt have the courage to ask for qenuine quicks. Dont care who the selector or coach is. Kohli is the most most influential person in the Indian setup

Most pace bowling success India have got in the last 3 years have been by bowling quick.

Bumrah bowling with pace and bounce in all formats.

Shami doing the same in tests and ODIs.

Bhuvi getting more success after adding pace and bounce.

This has to be the dumbest selection panel ever to be in chair for India...they are reaping their cuts from the influential people in the team least interested with anything which ia in the interest of Indian cricket.Msk prasad  should be fired feom his post right away

Khaleel is the best option being left arm

Pandya is hitting the deck hard and has come back well after first over. In first over got his line wrong, too leg side.

Yes ... Pandya has picked up 4 wickets after starting to hit the deck hard at 135 k to 141 k.

But he is still a non-specialist bowler and we need such specialist bowlers.

Would have Rajpoot instead of Kaul among experienced domestic bowlers. Can't expect them to select Avesh, khaleel, Khejroliya etc so early.

Umesh bowls 2 yorkers at 146 k and beat the batter both times,  while bowling an expensive over.

He can still bowl quick and whoever has advised him to slow down, needs to reconsider his advise.

Everyone has his strengths and need to stick to them.

Correct but he is far too inconsistent. He conceded 48 in 4 today despite bowling some good balls and pace. You can never rely on him to save your ass. He bowls full tosses after Yorker.

Today he was a bit inconsistent with his yorkers but he nailed those yorkers in previous 2 matches. There is clear improvement in his yorkers but obviously needs to work some more on it. This skill will also help him when the ball starts reversing in test matches.

Glad to see im not the only one who noticed that. Floaty stuff simply does not work in LOI cricket any more especially with the lack of swing. Hardik should be played primarily as a bowler(if he can hit the deck consistently) who can slog a few in LOI's or just restricted to playing as a Test all rounder on away tours. Because he's a iabilty when he simply pitches it up and hopes for the best.

Hope he doesn't take this advice in tests and try bowl as quick as he can in tests.

Yes, he is inconsistent and I don't really consider him to be a T20I bowler.

But, the point I was making was that ... Umesh is at his best when bowling at full pace.  He should not try to emulate other bowlers and miss out on benefiting from his strength.
