137-138kph average speed is sweet spot for a fast bowler. Bumrah, Shami, Siraj , Akashdeep all operate around this.

 

140+ is unsusutainable in long run and can lead to injuries.

 

135kph can still be ok if you are accurate enough. Basically machine level accuracy.

 

Below 135kph is very easy for International batters no matter how skillful the bowler is.

Avg speed over 140 kmph in test is like some1 who is truly 145+ kmph bowler,  this would be v.hard to find and as suggested will cause injuries.

Since the time speedometer only Akthar and Lee may have got there in test for a longer period of time and may be starc and Edwards when they were really quick and wood theses days

Agree.

 

Except regarding Siraj.  He is averaging 132 / 133 k in most spells. 

 

Harshit averages around 138 k with bounce, movement and wicket taking ability and should be brought in.

Siraj is the weak link in our pace attack . Averages 29.7 after 27 tests with only 2.7 wickets per test. Average bowling speed is dropping too.

if Shami comes back..I fear they will drop Akashdeep..that will be unfortunate as Akashdeep has good control..and can setup the batsman moving bowl both ways..I wanted him to share new ball with Bumrah actually instead of Siraj.

Siraj is valueable with the new ball. Though he don't reverse and that's his biggest drawback.
He can still play in England and NZ though, where conditions are friendly.

Siraj pushes beyond 140k occasionally but mostly operates around sub 135k or lower these days.

Akash deep doing well might motivate him to do better.

 

Little disappointed with Rohit that Akash Deep didn't bowl that much later on.

Hopefully a extended spell in second inns. 

We need to see how he goes with old ball.

Generates serious lift and zip off the deck.

A superior version of Jamieson.

 

If he gets similar kind of conditions like Chepauk in India will be handful against us

Saw few highlights NZ vs Pak t20, he was not that quick but was getting awkward bounce.

NZ seems to have a good amount of tall fast bowlers. Sears is tall, Jemisom, Rourke there is one more I guess

He was most impressive pacer in NZ v Australia series for Kiwis alongside Sears...

But he is good 4-5ks quicker in SL. Rushing batters for pace and bounce

Akashdeep is better than Siraj in getting seam movement and zip off the deck.  While Siraj is a better new ball swing bowler.

 

As seam movement is available much more often and throughout the innings than new ball swing, Akashdeep needs to be preferred.
