None of the IPL teams are interested in him , there was a time 5 years back when he was our bright young hope It's one thing to slow down in your 30s but to not be able to bowl the same pace u did in ur teens as a 20ish guy only shows one thing. Entitlement. Kudos to the IPL managements for snubbing these lazy entitled brats. ind_hyd1, Suhaan and express bowling 3

Lord Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 just saw Shedge in SMAT. No speed guns but was rushing the batsmen. Same pace as Shardul if not quicker. tapandrun 1
Nikhil_cric Posted November 27, 2024 Posted November 27, 2024 Pat Cummins is not the force he was in previous Australian BGT and has struggled since BGT in India 2023 primarily because of a loss in pace. Does not have the skill or accuracy to take wickets at this pace especially as first change bowler. The average speed is nearly the same as Bumrah's but the skill levels aren't

No. This auction has been poor for fringe and uncapped players because too much money spent on retentions and other capped players. Need4Speed, tapandrun, Mosher and 1 other 4

You can bowl a hard enforcer length and find great success when you are bowling above 140 kph. He needs to bowl fuller. More in the 6-7m zone at his current pace

Random people on the streets. All had " Bumrah 93 " written on their backs. One was a teenager, one in his 20s and the third in his 40s. Remember the 2023 world cup. I was visiting a Bata store. Game was going on and 2 salesmen were discussing the relative strengths of Ngidi and Coetzee. General public are loving bowlers clocking high speeds on TV or taking loads of wickets. My uncle, aged 67, called me asking for a video of Bumrah's five wicket haul. Said that his friends want to watch it. Enquired about Shami's fitness too. Said that he wanted to see these 2 super pacers bowling together in Australia. Times are changing. Fans are loving Bumrah a lot. Loving high quality fast bowling too. BCCI needs to understand this and promote our fast bowlers and fast bowling in general. Yes last 2 white-ball WCs have increase the up-take for faster bowlers in Ind public mindset. Ind had top-notch red-ball pace line-up 3/4 years back but ppl donot follow test cricket that much. Last 2 WC opened up ind audiences eyes, where they saw what a good bowling line-up can do. Plus the final where batter lost the game also added to that. Previously ppl were sold-out for line and length bowling but now they are seeing what and how much its a different ball game with x-factor bowler. And with Bhumrah is more visible to layman who can see that bhumrah has different action and bowling with bit of pace same with shami they can see with him batters are getting late due to zip. I rate Rabada and Bumrah higher.
Adamant Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Josh Hazelwood seems to be our biggest trouble, if our batsmen can somehow find a way of countering him, we are gonna win this series by a heavy margin, we have always been able to tame Starc, Cummins also hasn't been a force against us, It's just Hazelwood who has been shattering us.

In the last 4 years or so, almost all pacers are clocking lower speed readings in international cricket matches than they did earlier. But they are not necessarily looking slower visually. Only exception is Wood but he basically plays sparingly so that he can bowl very quickly. In the 2003 to 2020 period, lots of standard pace bowlers used to clock high 140s or higher sometimes but never happens these days. Mosher 1

MK55 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 Umran Malik - “I’m going to kill it in IPL 2025. I’m confident of taking a number of wickets this time. I’m not sure I’ll be touching 160 but I’m confident I’ll take a number of wickets bowling in the 150s” Also he said - “I’m 200 percent fit” This is what I wanted to hear. I hope he gets chances to play. I think he is the fastest bowler we’ve got. His body can actually handle bowling consistently fast easily. Need4Speed, Lord and Mosher 2 1
MK55 Posted November 28, 2024 Posted November 28, 2024 If he’s not played soon enough, I seriously hope he breaks some bones of the batsmen of his own team. lol
