He's not going to develop playing low quality domestic like Ranji anyway. I am not judging his bowling, he should be dropped right now because we have Akashdeep waiting who is better as of now. I was criticising his batting, people here were claiming he was a good lower order batsman.

He gave a lot of runs and wasnt looking much effective, happens when you arent playing and bowling consistently. Plus we also played the game as a ODI. Our problem is such that we have to play one rookie pacer, one spinner and one rookie medium pace allrounder..and if none of the 3 are able to contribute then it puts tremendous pressure on other 2 pacers. In this game, Starc performed the same way Bumrah did in the first..and was ably supported by Boland and Cummins. I don't think Starc is that effective with the red ball though. I just hope TM don't crucify everything on bowlers and make them the scapegoat for this loss. We are better team with red ball as against pink as it swings more. So, unless there is an injury, the pace bowling attack should remain unchanged. Starc has a strike rate of 48 over 369 test wickets. He is as good as any test bowler and just below ATGs.

I don't think that's the case.

If you don't think there is any other option left in domestics except Sen, then we can safely assume that Indian bowling is dead and we have nothing left. Better to stop playing the bowlers totally and fill the team with 10 batters + 1 Bumrah. And once Bumrah retires, its all going to be a mayhem and we will again become the joke of bowling which we used to be in late 80's to late 90's.
vishalvirsingh Posted December 8, 2024 Posted December 8, 2024 in my 11 for GABBA , i will not want to play any SPINNER at all. akashdeep cannot sit outside with the form he showed in india. Harshit was great in his first test and in second test he kind of failed but he did create some opportunities and i guess he was not asked to bowl bouncers in the second test. Nitish is a batsman and a trundler under 133K pacer and i feel he should be our 5th Pacer. why this is a good attack is bcos- - BOOM has to PLAY and if he is over bowled , he can pull his harmstring and we loose him for the rest of the series. -SIRAJ , harshit, akashdeep can be asked to stretch and go hard at the batsman with BOUNCERS and a full on attack. with load divided into 3 pacers and Nitish to support i feel they would do well as a bowling UNIT. so my team for gabba would be Yashasvi and ROHIT to OPEN Gill at no 3 Kohli at no 4 Rishabh at no 5- i am tempted to play Jurel and RISHABH and drop KL rahul Nitish JUREL at no 6 and play him as Keeper- i dislike Rishabh as keeper. harshit akashdeep BOOM Siraj opening is a left and right combo and both attacking batsman, who are kind of a threat to STARC. Rohit has hit starc for 3 or 4 four;s in a row too and Rohit is a tiger , dont underestimate him, i trust his batting. if he is in bad form still he is our best HOOKER. he is getting LBW and Bowled and i expect such a big batsman to figure out that issue and sort it out with Gautam gambhir. rishabh is messing his batting as he under performs with his keeping and then scores little as a batsman. i feel his batting will improve once he does not keep. why should he keep when jurel also can bat and jurel is a phenomenal wicket keeper. Nitish batting at no 6 will mean that Nitish will have a chance to score 65 runs at least as he gets himself out at 42 every time. lets hope Harshit bounces few batsman out and scores some runs too. About akashdeep I am 100 percent sure of Success he has some serious tricks and he will stretch to 142k for sure, Siraj is also stretching himself and i hope he gets his peak form back.

Mayank Yadav and Umraan Khan are very highly talented individuals and with proper fitness and a little bit of training can be in India 15 in tests or odi's apart from these two , there a few more who are close to selection 1. Gurnoor brar, i guess he was in contention to compete with Prasidh. 2. Khaleel is in real contention to play any of the tests in australia. 3. Arshdeep with a little more pace, 4. Tushar desh pande - he had some fitness issue's else he was in contention for coming to australia. MAYANK Yadav will be in our test team for sena countries as soon as he is marked fit and i feel umraan will also bounce back. i also expect one of the kasmiri bowlers - yudhvir and other bowlers to also come up in the ranks. Harshit rana and Hangekar are both ready for tests and Harshit will improve, hingekar is also around 140's. if kuldeep sen is fit , he is ready too. i mean our cup board is full of talent , just that we need to get them going/ well trained. having said that BCCI should create green tracks which encourage fast bowlers so that our bowlers are ready when they play test cricket but what we get in india are PATTA's or Spin friendly tracks...our pace bowlers like harshit , mayank would also turn up into trundlers in a year or two. see NITISH reddy he is bowling very accurately in Australia - perfect line n length but 128 to 135k , he has got 1 wicket to show in 2 tests, this would have happened to nadkat or any other trundler too , one requires swinging skills of bhuvi or the Pace of BOOM to suceed in tests - medium pacers under 132k dont get easy wickets in TESTS. That guy has now dropped pace into the 140's from 150's - and is now searching for line and length plus is less effective. This is in T20s and he is "still" getting injured. It is a long ways from there to ODOs to FC cricket to Test cricket. The "as soon as he is" can be a long time coming. vishalvirsingh 1

I know we have bowlers, question is though that fans get impatient and want immediate results. That's not how things work. Young bowlers can have an off match or series in the early days. Shami on his first tour to England took 5 wickets in 3 Tests, not every bowler can be of Bumrah's calibre and perform immediately. On top of it our batting is such that bowlers are always under pressure and the less I say about captaincy the better it is. express bowling, vishalvirsingh and raki05 1 2

England have trusted white ball specialists like Atkinson and he's giving them results So it's not all gloom, why not trust them We are certainly not a country that loves fast bowlers,we want readymade products ,you can see here they are expecting a 2 test old kid to control a pro like Head like a boss, seriously? He will surely learn, and he's isn't a braindead bowler Players come out of systems, teams go through lull but they mature and deliver results and mind you Ishant,Umesh too were below average in first 5 years All they needed a good supportive captain and coach which they got in Kohli and Arun That alone transformed our idea of fast bowling express bowling, raki05, singhvivek141 and 1 other 1 1 2

Bumrah before making his test debut had played international cricket for 2 years. Was already an established international cricketer. Yeah, Bumrah had that luxury because we already had experienced bowlers in Ishant, Umesh, Shami & Bhuvi in Tests. Thats why it's important to identify the right bowlers so that we have ready made replacement. We don't have bowlers left now in the longest format...Shami is already 34-35 years old. Its a matter of time before his body gives up. Akashdeep & Rana are still finding their feet and trying to win the confidence of captain and coach. tweaker 1

tapandrun Posted December 10, 2024 Posted December 10, 2024 Nitish Reddy looks a decent batter but not sure if he is a proper allrounder, may be #7/8 bowling option. Cann't be #5/6 bowler.
