Positives from the Lankan series for India

Despite the 5-0 convincing thrashing, 4 of which were pretty one-sided, I doubt if there are any major positives to take to the World Cup because: 1. Pitches will be very different 2. Opposition more diverse, and 3. India always plays well at home, but away performances could blow hot or blow cold. However, if you were to list your top 3 positives from this series, what would those be? For me, 1. The biggest positive is the bowling of Umesh Yadav. He always had the pace, but lacked direction and did not much seam or swing the ball. In this series, with the new ball, he was able to get good seam movement and his line (at least early in his first spell) was very good. He kept getting a wicket in the first over of the match. On flat tracks, I think his bowling would be the biggest positive for me. 2. Ambati Rayudu performed very decently and has made a big claim to the number 3/4 batting position. I think he batted very responsibly. 3. Return of Rohit Sharma from injury and back to form. Whether he carries that form ahead to Australia is still a mystery.

Psychological edge over Lankans reestablished .After the losses in T20 WC and Asia cup its pretty useful . We will most like face Srilanka in a QF or semi in WC so this is good adv to have

Umesh if he can keep improving. But he keeps changing his action. His action in 4th match was different than the first 3 matches that is where he loses it. Nothing as such other than that.

One 100+ innings by all top order batsmen - Rahane, Dhawan, Rohit, Rayudu, Kohli 4. Kohli's captaincy - way more aggressive than Dhoni 5. Kohli's return to form with the bat, particularly in a chase 6. Kohli's consistent performance at No. 4 7. Ascertaining that Uthappa is surely not making the cut for the CB series or the WC

One intl outing and already ruled out ..... it's his first intl outing and may be he was nervous....give him some time....

Rohit Sharma. Him among the runs albeit it being different track to the ones we will have in world cup, is a great thing. He will only get confidence with this. You rather go into world cup having scored runs then nothing much scored.

We all know what they did last summer. In NZ . Now the same team more or less goes to WC and we can pretty much expect the same. If they reach semis, it will be a wonder.

Umesh is Pacy but he should still be consistent..he was bowling wides too. Raydu is good against all kind of bowling but he is Just too bad against genuine Short bowling...I predict he could do well in Tests but will not do well in ODI in Australia. Axar Patel is beating Jadeja-- is he the Next Super Star. Ashwin Becomes deadly whenthe ball turns but why does he experiment so much. i beleive austalians are scared of Ashwin and wont give him spinning tracks. Raina is too good. Rohit is more talented than Rahane ...Not sure about temparement. Varun Aroon is way too Fast.

Rohit Sharma 264.He will continuously give poor starts in Australia and put pressure on Dhawan to score. Expect 10 overs 30 runs in australia and 100/4 because of Mr. Roshits poor scoring.
