When BJP leader Subramanian Swamy was asked to bless a Tamil wedding, by handing over the mangalsutra to the groom, no one expected him to go ahead and try to tie the knot himself. But he went ahead and did exactly the same! It's an old custom in Tamil weddings that a senior person hands over the mangalsutra to the groom, before he ties the knot. If the groom is a member of a political party, then usually the party leader does it. When Swamy was asked to solemnise the marriage by passing the mangalsutra to the groom, he, instead, approached the bride with the intention of tying the knot himself. :haha: Everyone in the wedding party, especially the couple, was shocked as Chandralekha shouted and pulled Swamy's hands back.
