BlueBee Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Yep. Technically very sound and a treat to watch unlike that Aussie flog who can only bat in flat tracks.
adi B Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Good player but his major test will come up against pak in uae
HippoSucks Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 These rankings are very odd. Before this match Root was at around 880 points and from one century he gains 37 points?
Gollum Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Root and Smith are batting at such a level that I highly doubt either Kohli or Ajinkya is going to get near them any time soon.
Bigg Brother Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Root and Smith are batting at such a level that I highly doubt either Kohli or Ajinkya is going to get near them any time soon. Rahane is better than Root but not smith. Only reason they are catching eye and rahane isn't is they are playing with good unit and rahane with bad and falsely shows that his many innings hasn't impact on game as every of them has resulted in loss or draw.
Temujin Khaghan Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Root is the best batsman in the world... long may he continue in that spot.
kosingh Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 I told you guys way back that he is much better than Kohli, Smith and Williamson The guy has it for all conditions. I have seen him come through the Yorkshire ranks. Quality guy, future captain He's one of the few young batsmen who seems to enjoy test cricket and is also good at it.

Ohh read Boycott's comments on Smith ... calls him FTB
HippoSucks Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Ohh read Boycott's comments on Smith ... calls him FTB He exaggerates a lot, like saying that if half the England team was full of the second team players they would still win.
diga Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 He exaggerates a lot' date=' like saying that if half the England team was full of the second team players they would still win.[/quote'] on the evidence of last 2 ashes tests, anybody would say that

Even statistically, ignoring wins and losses, Rahane's numbers are not exactly stellar
HippoSucks Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Even statistically' date=' ignoring wins and losses, Rahane's numbers are not exactly stellar[/quote'] Considering the conditions in which he batted those statistics look very good. Unfortunately these rankings do not consider home and away performances separately I believe.
adi B Posted August 8, 2015 Posted August 8, 2015 Ohh read Boycott's comments on Smith ... calls him FTB I think boycott only considers performances in test matches in england (although he was present in india when they won 2-1) only,he's forgetting that most of these same English batsmen were batting likr headless chickens in Australia and uae
vvvslaxman Posted August 9, 2015 Posted August 9, 2015 Solid player. He is one of those player who just loves to play everything off the backfoot. We hardly see bowlers who bowl full swinging deliveries to such players. HE is simply thriving on it. Harris bowled to him well.
