Should Kohli be sacked as Captain if we lost this Test series?

This is the worst Lankan team in years and yet we are being humiliated. After the pathetic display today can't see us coming back in the series.Would most likely lose 3-0 if no weather intervention. f
and this is the worst Indian team in years too.

If this is the worst Indian team ever how is a Batsmen ave 60 in sub continent conditions kept out ?
I don't know if it's the worst Indian team ever. But the worst since 1995, perhaps.

The 1995 Indian team was something like this (this XI played NZ at home in 95. India won, btw): Prabhakar Jadeja Manjrekar Tendulkar Azhar Kambli Mongia Kumble Srinath Chauhan Raju I think I'd pick this 95 team over the current bimbos

Of course not. Its his first full series. Saying that, this is pretty depressing. Thing is if Vijay was fit and we were to not play Rohit then Rahul would be first choice no 3 I think

O Please, first player who has is trying to do some unconventional things for Indian cricket now is on the sacking radar among you guys. That he is able to make major changes like 5 bowler strategy, is itself a good sign. Bowler's would feel more pumped now that they are being rewarded a slow in the test team playing x1 and they will only get better as the captain is backing them up. This is what we needed for a while.

Looks like a strong SC team compared to the team we have now.

The only unconventional thing is playing Rohit ****ing Sharma at no.3 And I didn't say sack him after this match But Rohit again plays ahead of Pujara ,or the useless Harbajan plays and we lose again and get whitewashed then what happens?

Virat as a captain he needs to given a run , longer one, as he wants to win n hopefully will find ways, he needs to think about his bowlers n back potential n be intuitive like Ganguly our selectors R idiots. Our bowling was weak except for Ashwin n our batting lineup needs changes, Pujara for Rohit n dropping Harbhajan. It's time selectors play Ojha n Gopal, K Yadav also need to look at left armers n plz no Malaria or Undakunt who R embaressing

We can still make a comeback and at-least draw the series. For the team to have any chance, nalayak nohit needs to announce retirement from test cricket.

Sacking captains is not the solution to the problem. England and Australia have done that and although they enjoyed success in the shorter run, it has not lasted long. In that aspect, I admire Indian selection as we don't take knee jerk reactions. The fact is and has always been that our bowlers are letting the team down more than the batsmen and that is hurting our W/L percentage. I wonder what a captain can do if his bowlers are this worse.

1) What's revolutionary is not the five bowler strategy but the fact that Kohli is willing to compromise on having a specialist keeper and 5 bowlers just to ensure he has the resources to take 20 wickets 2) Dhoni could afford to play 5 bowlers as he was a good enough batsman in subcontinental tracks 3) The strategy did work as we took 20 wickets and also bowled them out for a sub 200 score in one of the innings 4) The batsmen didn't take up the responsibility. Everyone were expecting them to pull off this chase easily. Can't blame the captain for this. 5) The plan is to play 3 spinners, and these are the only 3 spinners in the squad. We don't have any other spinner to replace Harbhajan. 6) Rohit needs to go, but playing him isn't reason alone for sacking the captain Your OP looks more like a sarcastic jab at those who were calling for Dhoni to be sacked after 8-0 than a genuine opinion. If Kohli loses a couple of series as heavily and with as much humiliation, I won't see anything wrong with calling for his sacking. But Kohli seems to be more open to learning from his mistakes and not as stubborn as you-know-who, starting with him admitting that there needs to be further discussions on DRS. I don't see us getting whitewashed.

I like the way Kohli is going about things. It took match-changing umpiring and a brilliant Chandimal inning to snatch the victory away from us.

It also required inept batting of the highest order.:winky:
