fineleg Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 same boring Dhawan, Rahane, Axar, Mohit...no changes, no matter the results??
Singh bling Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) I thought Bhajji was dropped Edited October 22, 2015 by Singh bling ee
beautifulgame Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Its just ridiculous .How Gurkareet haven't gotten a chance this serious I am sure even if we lose today , he still will play the same team on Sunday too
The Realist Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Nothing is going to change until Dhoni and/or current selectors are gone. Its like we are stuck on an endless repeat and rinse cycle. Mosher 1
express bowling Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Our captain believes in dropping only the genuine fast bowlers for non-performance, even if it is for a couple of games or so. Edited October 22, 2015 by express bowling Gollum 1
Shivaji bhonsle Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 At least in the 90s players were dropped when they failed to perform...
zep1706 Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results.
sensible-indian Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 What do you expect guys.Kohli probably has saved India today. Probably.Dhoni has to retire or else we are going to face a lot of pain. This kind of selection is just painful to be honest. Gollum 1
kruiser Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Insanity is also defined as changing your course every few yards. Please tell me what changes you would have brought in with the 15 that the selectors gave us. Bring in S Arvind for Mohit? or Gurkeerat for Axar on a spin friendly track? or maybe Binny for Bhajji?yes I dont like the team we have, but this is the best possible XI looking at the pitch and available options. PS. we are gonna win this game. sandeep and sscomp32 2

PS. we are gonna win this game. For this match, I would have opened with Rahane and Rohit... dropped Dhawan ...played Gurkeerat at 6.Dhoni would come at 4 and Raina at 5.Look, I have always believed that Dhoni is one of the best ODI batsmen ever in the history of ODI cricket, especially as finisher. But, with age, roles change and Dhoni needs to go up a bit in the order and bring in an explosive guy at 6.It will obviously be a gamble and the first player we try may not succeed. Even if he does, it may take time for him to develop. But, that process of finding a new explosive no,6 must start now with a bilateral series going on.Another issue which we often tend to miss is that, unless the captain is a rookie or uninfluential one, the team that the selectors give him has his full endorsement. If Kohli or Dhoni, as captains, want some specific player or players in the team then they are probably going to get him. I would retain Umesh in the team in place of Arvind and may have played him on this wicket because reverse swing is on offer here and he is one of the pacers who can reverse the ball. He has been expensive ...true...but so has the other seamers been and Umesh takes wickets. In a nutshell, some changes were possible even under the current scenario. Gollum and Mosher 2
sandeep Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 What makes people believe this Gurkeerat kid is going to come in and start blasting Saffer bowlers on debut?
express bowling Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) What makes people believe this Gurkeerat kid is going to come in and start blasting Saffer bowlers on debut? He won't. But a new player development takes time and the process has to start early. Maybe he won't succeed at all and someone else has to be tried. One thing is certain ...we need to develop atleast one and maybe even 2 lower order big hitting batsmen who are preferably allrounders. Dhoni has to bat at no.5 or no 4. Edited October 22, 2015 by express bowling Gollum and Mosher 2
Mosher Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 What makes people believe this Gurkeerat kid is going to come in and start blasting Saffer bowlers on debut? Nobody knows how Gurkeerat will perform. All the more reason to try out a youngster in a meaningless bilateral series. We will never know unless we try out new players instead of recycling tried and tested failures. express bowling and Gollum 2

Mosher Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Stubborn MSD punked all the hatersThe issue of lower order big hitter still persists. Being called haters for wishing for a stronger and better team INDIA??? Gollum and express bowling 2
express bowling Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 (edited) Another bad day in office for ICFers How ? In the last 6 LOIs played in our own country we lost 4 and won 2 ( including this one ). Introducing and developing one new player in place of a non-performing one and making minor changes to the batting order seems quite reasonable. Edited October 22, 2015 by express bowling

bowl_out Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 Umesh is not even part of the squad now...Expect same XI
rkt.india Posted October 22, 2015 Posted October 22, 2015 What makes people believe this Gurkeerat kid is going to come in and start blasting Saffer bowlers on debut? Gurkeerat recently played for India A against good bowlers of SA and Aus A and won us the final from a precarious position on this same ground. He might not that at the highest level straight away but no one else is doing it too so why not invest in a youngster and let him develop. Mosher and express bowling 2
