Gollum
Ok, we lost T20s and the JAMODIs. Big deal....move on. Real battle is yet to commence. We lost to Australia in ODI bilaterals/tri series every single time before 2004 but we won the test duels in '95, '98,'01 and that's what really matters. Nobody remembers ODI/T20 results but test results are difficult to forget. The 2012 test series loss at home to England still hurts, even though we thrashed them in the home ODIs a couple of times in between '11-'12, including a whitewash in '11. Saffers I guess will take the results of the test series much more seriously than the events of the past month. After all they are undefeated in overseas tests since '06 and India is the only place they haven't tasted success in that time frame. Win the test series and we still have won the war. Super pumped for this.Hope we get home advantage in the pitches and Ashwin is fit. Also relieved that we get to see an Indian team sans MSD. Kohli will no doubt back the bowlers more like he did in Lanka. Just pray that Che gets a look in. Want him and Murali to grind Steyn and co to dust. Also hope Rahane, Dhawan, Kohli get a few biggies and make them field for many days. Ashwin, Mishra, Jadeja will be tough to deal with even for batsmen like ABCD, Amla and Du Plessis. And don't forget Lord Ishant, the slayer of batsmen and conqueror of Lanka. This will be an epic series, hopefully one that will be talked about for many years. This is a young team which can rise to great heights, let this be a stepping stone towards their path to the test no 1 spot. Link to comment
sensible-indian
As long as Ashwin is fit and no more crazy ideas like dropping Pujara for Rohit. If we have that, it should be fun.VijayDhawan/RahulPujaraKohliRahaneSahaAshwinMishraJadduYadav/AaronIshant/for first test - someone Edited October 25, 2015 by sensible-indian Link to comment
Austin 3:!6
I would play with this team for 1st test:VijayDhawanPujaraKohliRahaneRohitSahaAshwinJadejaUmeshAaronShould not lose with that strong batting. Atleast can draw the game. I know negative approach but we have no option. If Jadeja comes good with bat, drop Rohit and play Saha next test. Link to comment
fineleg
Still not convinced abt Saha as the best wk-bat option, but we have to give him this series. Link to comment
wanted_desi
Glad we lost ODI series, I don't really care about these ODI. We need to build team for Champions Trophy, and it was great to Mohit and Bhuvi getting exposed. Hope to see Mohit never in Indian colors again. beetle 1 Link to comment

Iconoclast
If Ashwin is fit India will have the edge in the test series.Saffers don't have a decent test spinner plus Amla's poor form and Duminy injury has their test batting looking suspect as well. Link to comment
kosingh
Bowling wise, spinners will get the job done for India. But I'm very concerned about our test batting lineup. Link to comment
