rkt.india Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Its not a question of doctoring. As i said before you know its a small ground with small boundaries with a fast outfield. Surely regardless of aiding the home side or not you would want to see a degree of balance between bat and ball? I would not mind if they had made it a pacers pitch. Pitches at Wankhede and Bangalore need to assist the bowlers a bit extra to counter these physical limitations. If anything Mumbai has natural turn in its pitches due to red clay soil. There must have been a good degree of doctoring to make it a flat pitch. I also think some posters are not aware of scoreboard pressure. In the recent world cup match between India and SA it was scoreboard pressure which caused Saffer wickets to tumble. There they were chasing 307 with the old rules. Pitch was hard. Pitches that have spin are usually loose pitches. Remember India-WI test in 2012. That pitch didn't have turn for first 4 days. While pitch against England had it from day 1. I believe this pitch was a good track for SA bowlers because of the bounce it offered.
StatsRock Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I think he was just pissed at how many times he kept saying "That went like a tracer bullet" during the South African innings
G_B_ Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) How is Wankahede small ground? It is bigger than some of the other grounds in the world. All of a sudden 430 is scored and people are callng Wankahede, a small ground. You lay this same surface on a Bangalore pitch and see how many runs are scored provided we continue to bowl shyt line and length like we did in this 5th odi. I find Wankahede one of the decent size grounds. We have way smaller grounds than Wankahede in India. I think only Kotla and Bangalore are smaller....but Wankhede is small man.I visited DY Patil in mumbai to realise just how small Wankhede was. Even the BKC ground is quite big compared to Wankhede. coffee_rules Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 Wasn't Sudhir Naik accused of shoplifting (stole socks) in England?
fineleg Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 (edited) Stole socks!?!! Are they some jeweled socks! Edited October 27, 2015 by fineleg
Gollum Posted October 27, 2015 Posted October 27, 2015 I thought I heard that name Sudhir Naik before. Now I remember he was accused of shoplifting a couple of pairs of socks on that ill fated England tour, 1974.

cowboysfan Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 I woke up early, saw the pitch and went back to sleep.we have no shot winning on these pitches, we will lose the tests too if we don't see turners.
bowl_out Posted October 28, 2015 Posted October 28, 2015 What a loser!! If India batted first and got 400, Ravi would have called it a beauty of a pitch..
