He has to perform big time now to keep his place

He is not giving sehwag like starts,

Infact wasting a lot of balls, also doesnt cover it up with singles or doubles.

Opp have seem to caught not only his weakness but also how to tie down his runs

That is actually making rahane bat low, whereas rahane is best suited to open.

Rahane batting in middle makes middle order look

N honeslty i dnt c dhawan playing 2019 wC

Its time eiher he performs or rahane moves up

N we add iyer, nair, mann, samson, pandya, hooda, sarfraz n few more in middle n lower middle order to have some firepower

Who is this author, he is a moron Dhawan is one of the best Indian batsmen in ODIs. What does he expect Dhawan needs to score hundred every time.He is one of the few match winners this pathethic odi team has in its playing eleven.

What has Rahane done in odis to be even compared with his guy.Nohit and Dhawan are very good opening pair leave them alone.

Fair enough Dhawan Record have been absolutely brilliant

I hve beileved after kohli he is the second most impact player in batting

N rahane n him has almost similar matches but there is huge diff in stats

But Currently dhawan form shows no confidence n they way he has been caught by opp , His slow starts are actually struggling the team.

So this shud b the series were he has to perform or he has to go. If we keep giving out of form players chances in the end we cnt cry that we are not winning.

There are few ques over him

1. Does he look like improving his technique?

2. Does he add anything as a fielder?

3. His current form?

4. Do u see him playing 2019 WC?

5. Is there a backup? yes Rahane can bat at top but in middle he struggles.

6. He has been struggling in gud batting conditions of lately what about when there is something pitch can he bat ?

If he is gud , Its high time he scores n keeps his place

Dhawan is not doing well at the moment, but fickle fans need to calm down.  With one side of the mouth, posters rant about how we need to invest long-term in our fast bowlers inspite of bad performances etc and the other side, can't wait to drop someone else to bring in the new flavor of the month.  This is not fantasy cricket, or Madden/FIFA on xbox, where you pick player names and juice up your scoring.  And our team is not run by PCB.  You don't just wreak havoc on player's confidence and mindset by threatening them all the time.  Dhawan has his flaws, but he is doing a job as a left-handed opener, and has earned a bit of a rope.  Not forever, but at least for a few games.

Personally, I do believe Rahane can do what Rohit is doing at the top of the order (without the clean hitting), and would like to see him at the top of the order, but its still too early to call for sacking Shikhar just yet.

Dhwan is horribly out of form since the srl tour,he is lacking confidence.needs to be dropped for his own good else we'll witness more 10 of 25 balls type of innings

In ODIs...

Dhawan averages

33.27    in Australia,

30.83    in NZ,

22.66    in West Indies,

6      in South Africa

74    in England

He has basically been a good ODI player in the sub-continent barring the Champion's trophy in England, where he did really well. As far as I remember the pitches were flat then.

Unless he is in really good form, he is quite useless outside the sub-continent.   His match winning skills are mostly in  sub-continent ODIs.

How were Virat's numbers against Oz in Oz before the previous game?  Take away Kohli's numbers against SL, and what does he have in ODIs in SA/ENG/NZ/AUS?   Stats can be used to back up whatever argument you want to make.

Regardless, Dhawan is not doing well - that's not a debate.  But is it better to drop him or give him a chance to bounce back and grow as a player?  That's not a slam-dunk question to answer.  After all, Isn't this the same guy who scored a century against SA in Australia in the WC?  Would you have predicted him to win you the champions trophy in English conditions?  Will a top order of 3 or 4 right-handers make it that much easier for opposition bowlers to execute their bowling plans?

He did well in CT and in WC 11... ICC events generally have flatter pitches than bi-lateral tournaments..  That is one reason why he looks like a big event player.. I remember him doing well even in the semi against Aus... There seemed to be some hope until he threw it away.. and then it was downhill

Actually, his record in Australia and NZ isn't that bad. An average of 35 is pretty decent in ODIs. There are hardly any Indian batsmen who average 40+ overall, let alone away.

When did Sachin score 100 against Australia in Australia or 100 against NZ in NZ. Australia was 2008 and NZ was in 2009. Sachin scored 38 of his 49 odi 100s in Sub continent. What does that say about Sachin.

So according to you when Dhawan scores 100s in England or Australia , it is due to flat pitches , but show me one Indian batsmen who has better record than him. This guy has scored 8 100s and 15 50s in 70 matches which is phenomenal record for any batsman anywhere.

What do you expect from him score 100 or fifties all the time.

Looked horrible in Perth. So limited. Not just that he got out on low score but how he played was not good at all. Brisbane will probably be among the fastest in the world so it will only be harder for him.
