Yuvraj, Dhawan should be dropped and new players tried out. Iyer, Pandey should be given chances. Jadeja's career T20 strike rate is below 90. That is atrocious and unacceptable. Other than Jadeja, bowling looks fairly stable. Even Pandey isnt high sr batsman. We need high sr batsmen, at least 130. Mosher and tweaker 2

We need high sr batsmen, at least 130. have you seen this article on hussey metric for a good batsman in T20? http://www.espncricinfo.com/magazine/content/story/991951.html Quote We didn't really have a measure for a player being good or not. The mantra, by adding their average and strike rate indicated good players at the top of the order, where you expect the average to be a little bit higher but their strike rate a little bit lower. Down the order, you expect the average to be a little bit lower but the strike rate higher. We figured 160 to be the mark. If you are around it, you are generally among the top players. by that yardstick, Dhoni/Rahane/Yuvi/Dhawan/Rohit Sharma dont cut inT20's Edited March 31, 2016 by diga diehardpacer and express bowling 2
Adi_91 Posted March 31, 2016 Posted March 31, 2016 I believe Yuvi experiment is over. If he is a WT20 specialist, then he may have to wait for a call in 2020 when the next WT20 will be played. Not sure if he will be around.
diga Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 Our T20 squad should always have 2-3 players under 25 who can cut it in both ODI's and tests too.. can check the temperament/attitude of rookies in that period for promoting them to other formats

Yuvi too had it but has past it.

diga Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 (edited) ^ thanks ... along with a new set of players for T20, we also need a new coach & new captain. Hussey is a good fit, considering that Ind wont employ people without international experience. Anyway, for me personally, more than t20 success, I would like to see a test series win in Aus & SA in my lifetime ;) Edited April 1, 2016 by diga express bowling 1

G_B_ Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 How about we take a breath. Next world cup 4 years away. Yes we have problems but we have been in the finals in 2014 (where we did play the best cricket despite not winning) and the semis in this world cup. More than personnel the mantra has to change. Lets just pick inform players closer to the world cup in 2020 for the T20 format. Shreyas Iyer may become the main stay of the Indian ODI and T20 team. But there is no point picking him if he is out of form close to the T20 world cup. In that sense, its a very odd and disappointing that Rohit and Dhawan were good in the Asia cup and sucked in the world cup in a matter of weeks.
G_B_ Posted April 1, 2016 Posted April 1, 2016 And as far as changes go, I do hope Shami and Bhuvi can gain momentum. Nehra has been a good WC but he is closing in on 38. If the next world cup is in 2020 then the odds are high he will quit by then. Rest everybody in theory will have the age to participate in WC 2020. Form and other issues aside. India lack a pace bowling allrounder. Pandya should be invested in. tweaker and diehardpacer 2
