First, Dhoni must go as captain. 

 

Batting is woeful, especially the middle order. Yuvraj, Dhawan should be dropped and new players tried out. Iyer, Pandey should be given chances. 

 

Jadeja's career T20 strike rate is below 90. That is atrocious and unacceptable. 

 

Other than Jadeja, bowling looks fairly stable.

UV must be dropped. Get a chance to another playa.

 

I don't agree. Lot of our batting is struggling. any big changes need to be made after the tournament.

we need a good batsman other than kohli. Raina, Dhawan, Rohit, UV. one of this guy has to go. 

A spinning allrounder would be good. Harbi can dent australians as he did several times in past. 

i say, Drop uv call for pandey. drop pandya or jadeja for harbi.

Batting got really exposed.  And as much as I love Yuvi.  He got really embarassed today.  He doesn't belong in this team - get bhajji in for him if the wickets are going to be like this.  

Most importantly, openers need to change their approach, they try to take sub-par totals off the board with their conservative start upfront, but as we saw today - it doesn't really guarantee a par or par-plus total.  Better to take a bit of risk and be aggressive.  Luckily for us, this lesson did not cost us the game, thanks to one of the all-time great collapses in T20 cricket.  Toygers striped their chaddis in the end, royal bengal style.

When I compare the depth of batting in teams like NZ, SA, England, West indies and Aus and see ours, we are no match

Dhoni as a wicket-keeper and batsman is irreplaceable for the team. But I really despise his captaincy. Bringing in leg spinners for left handed batsmen and off spinners for right handed batsmen, and never letting Yuvi bowl on that wicket....! There's really no sense and logic in that. 

In that last over, he obviously told Pandya to bowl towards off-stump area and yet, there were only 2 players fielding outside the circle for the off side region. He just makes it so hard for himself and the team. 

I was really surprised to see with how effectively did Williamson rotate his bowlers, especially the spinners. We really need a captain of such caliber.

Passengers in this team: Bhajji, Yuvi (yes he is), Nehra (past expiry date as a cricketer). I don't think these 3 will be in the setup after this tournament.

I meant after the tournament only. Obviously, Pandey and Iyer cannot make it into the team in this tournament barring injury to any of the squad members.

Iyer for Dhawan & Pandey for Yuvi.My playing XI for ODIs & t20s would be like this:-

Iyer,Rohit,Kohli,Pandey,Raina,Dhoni,Hardik,Jadeja,Ashwin,Shami,Bumrah.I'd try out new players

rather than Yuvi,Nehra & Harbhajan.Nehra can play in the t20s if he continues.Plus no Rahane in the

LOI squad.Try out players like Mayank,Kedar,Negi,Nathu.

Seriously, we have just too many  passengers in this batting lineup. Dhawan, Raina, Yuvraj, even Rohit Sharma is providing too slow starts and not carrying on. 

 

When we are finally put out of our misery, I would like to see a complete overhaul of our battting lineup in T20s. We can't just keep playing with this ODI setup.

Pick some in form players from the IPL.

Iyers play cricket?? :confused:

I thought they were biologically programmed to only study for the joint entrance test and get into IITs.

He's fom Mumbai, thats probably why
