MCcricket
Ranji at neutral venues disappoints Mohammad Kaif: http://www.cricbuzz.com/cricket-news/81115/ranji-at-neutral-venues-disappoints-mohammad-kaif Download Cricbuzz App: http://bit.ly/tXhJ3j He simply shows he is an intelligent thinker n should be used in the capacity as our selectors n Capt (Dhoni), coaches don't get it, end up being trundler lovers n think a 120 K bowler can be successful at international level Mosher, sscomp32, tweaker and 1 other 3 1 Link to comment
Mosher
From the article "If a bowler bowling 120 ks can get 40 wickets in a season, but when he goes to play for India, and playing at the international level, he's exposed. Because he's not worked hard in domestic cricket. The other way around, the batsmen have done that. They are forced to leave balls on seaming tracks, on turning tracks. They learn how to play in different conditions and on different pitches," he concluded. We need hard sporting wickets not lawns. Pitches which offer bounce for those bowlers who are willing to bend their backs. express bowling, sourab10forever and tweaker 3 Link to comment

Ankit_sharma03
Face palm for selectors who have this obsession with trundlers. Players like him who are well versed with modern cricket should be in selection committee. Wasim akram n MCgrath would be laughing how krishna das was picked ahead of Ankit rajpoot for irani cup and he got to play as replacment. I wish they both blast them in some article for Ignoring Nathu singh n pandya for A-tours . Bhajji also mentioned last yr those pitches are making 120k bowlers look like malcolm marshall. Players like Yuvraj singh has praised talents like Bumrah, nathu, Manan, Sran, Sarfraz in recent times. Its high times Guys like Sehwag , kaif, yuvraj, bhajji, zaheer should be involved in some capacity as they understand modern cricket. Atleast start with guys like Kaif , Zaheer, sehwag. M sure these guys would have better ideas than Sandeep patil n co. express bowling 1 Link to comment

express bowling
Good to see a modern cricketer speak out against the existing domestic structure and pitches for domestic cricket. Even better to see a batsman thinking about how to develop good quality bowlers for India and recognising that the 120 k bowling " superstars " won't work in international cricket. I would like to see Kaif and other modern thinking cricketers getting involved with player development and selection in Indian cricket. Ankit_sharma03 1 Link to comment
nevada
Good to see Kaif echoing what ICF'ers have been saying for years. Yes, there is lot of drama and wrist slitting here at times but one can learn more here about upcoming players, conditions etc than on a mainstream site. MCcricket
Indian cricket n particularly BCCI n mostly selectors n worse captains don't have a clear path, thought process, and direction, there is no professional analysis n steps taken to strengthen weak areas n for decades it has been wkt taking bowlers, and batters who can bat on hard tracks What steps need to be taken to overcome the short comings and also most importantly create a pool of players n then bench strength with genuine talents who can strengthen team and replace players n not useless players like Unadkunt, Arvind, it's embarrassing and a disgust that talent like Aniket C ,Suyal, Nathu, Rajpoot, ,Sarfaraz are being ignored n u see players who will never succeed in international stage getting chances after chances, what do selectors see in Unadkunt, phew express bowling and tweaker 2 Link to comment

mishra
His opinion makes no sense at all as facts/stats paint completely different picture. 1. I feel that most of Ranaji tracks are phatta. 2. If they are not Phatta then they are turners. What it means is most of the life of Ranaji tracks is batting frndly and then spin friendly and that have produced successful batsmen and spinners. When overseas they (batsman and spinners) struggle but their struggle is more down to our pacers inability to take wicets. If you take a look at top 5 bowling performances, there is only one pacer in it. So I cant understand where did our pacers got a wicket which assisted them. So we need pace bowling friendly wickets to produce more pace bowlers and NOT the wickets he is mentioning where pace bowlers have already resigned to not take wickets or have to think OUT OF BOX everytime the ball is thrown to their hands Edited July 13, 2016 by mishra tweaker 1 Link to comment

Check the records of last few years and see how many trundlers and medium pacers in top 10 wicket taker's list. Seems like you have been completely detached from Indian domestic cricket for last few years and suddenly woke up now. last season was the result of concerns of us not producing spinners, not producing batsmen who could play spin well and producing too many green tops. So, what was the result, we saw a lot of rank turners. here is the list http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2014-15/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=9513;type=tournament http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2013-14/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=8307;type=tournament http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ranji-trophy-2012/engine/records/bowling/most_wickets_career.html?id=7515;type=tournament Edited July 13, 2016 by rkt.india express bowling, Mosher and tweaker 3 Link to comment
MCcricket
Once again it beats me to see no understanding or do ordination in having sporting wkts, a sporting wkt will create a better batter or bowler or intact help one in identifying true talent then mediocre players, in this day and age talking about climate, soil is bullshit, if middle East can become an oasis sure one can create a track which assists bowlers on first day n then gives batted the edge for a day n half n last spinners come into play, now assistance could be a bit bounce carry, seam or swing depending on venue, also spin could get turn or unpredictable bounce or some venues bounce n this way we will see seamers who can bowl to a plan n needing some pace n learn virtues of bowling spells, n use the conditions, spinners can lead how to bowl initially when it doesn't aid them so they can be successful abroad n then how to use the track later on. Batters can learn to play pace, seam n swing better on first Dan Day n half then after batting long enough can use the batting conditions on 2 n 3 Rd day , also on 4 day will learn to play when spinners get assistance , you will see more results n better players coming to the fore then. express bowling 1 Link to comment
