What is Ishant Sharma's role in the team?

He is 6.4 tall, seam bowler who bowls above 140k

All he had to do was bowl 3 overs with full effort.........Still bowling crap.

Ishant has been pretty bad in India offlate. Similar to Bhuvi he is also dependant a lot on conditions, so needs to be considered for only overseas tests.

 

If Shami was fit obviously he would be our first choice in India. We need to desperately find another couple of bowlers who are used to getting wickets on flat decks. We should also try a leftie like Aniket for variety and the left armers angle which will complement the other right arm pacer.

He is averaging 47 since May 2011 at home taking 23 wickets in 15 tests.

He started doing relatively well overseas but went down hill at home. Cannot believe this is the same bowler who got MOS in 2008 against an Australian side loaded with great batsmen. Despite having all the physical attributes, he still cannot hit that right length like Hazelwood does.

this is an interesting topic for me Ishant is shiznet and probably need to try Aniket in his place, but lets look at his height.

 

with 6'4" KP - seems to have an inch and an half may be on him.

( Look at elbows and shoulders to gauge height as those are the least bent from the bottom up.

He has been consistently crap for the last decade almost. High time we throw him out at least from home Tests.

I already pointed out that he has been very poor in India since 2011 , the series Umesh Yadav made his debut for India. Averages close to 50. He was very good before that. So, I do not like him playing tests in India.
